Desperate - Part 2

When the going gets tough, the tough get.......  (you will have to wait a little further down the post to find out)

So here is the Desperate Update - I still have the darn leak.  Mr. Friggin Disappearing Handyman is wherever - Whatever!! Who needs him - I have a new package of diapers!

Today I kind of "cracked".  When I woke up it was snowing.  Not alot but at this point any tiny flake that falls from the sky now is enough to send me over the edge.  Then as I walked towards the leaking pantry, the first thing I saw was a giant wet spot on the carpet.  Arrrrgh, I panicked that the leaky window had now spread to the ceiling but then I saw my tupperware tower had collapsed in the night and spilled on the floor.   A mess but so much better than the roof falling in!

I guess between the weather, work, the leaky window (now on the 5th day) I have had enough and by lunch time I was on the verge of tears.  No special reason - just at the edge.

So......when the going gets tough, the tough......call for a Spa Treatment!  I called looking for a massage appointment.  There were none until the end of the week.  I begged - even suggesting she bump someone.  OK I didn't mean to really bump someone but it was worth a try.   It was the owner of the business who answered the phone and she could tell I was stressed so she offered me a 1 hr facial appointment right after work - with a 15% discount.  SOLD
Ooooh it was so perfect and I feel so much better.  When I finished the treatment I got more good news.  She said she had changed her mind - and gave me a 25% discount on the facial.  SWEET!!!

I think I need to do things like this more often.  Fed up, disgusted, down in the dumps......call a Spa!

There is still time to enter my GIVEAWAY!  Click here and maybe you will win and can spoil yourself with a new gift.

  2. I have never had a spa treatment. well nails thats all. That is a great idea!. I can relate to you so much. I came home from work so tired last night I just walked up stairs and went to bed. It thought I was coming down with something. and this morning I was tired and achy so I slept a big part of the day and tonight I feel pretty good. Then a friend calls and tells me she felt so tired I think this weather is getting to everyone. We are not even seeing the sun that much so it is cloudy snowy and cold most days. and we are headed into the deep freeze again tonight. I guess I need a spa!

  3. Kim all I can say is that after I have tears from laughing and in sympathy for your reaction to a tiny snowflake falling from the sky, a reaction I happen to share....it is good we do not live close cause I do believe that we could get into some trouble. Funny trouble, but trouble none the less. And don't you know that handymen are so freakin' rich that they can pick and choose which job they DO NOT want to show up for! I had a melt down today over burnt toast. CH just looked at me with THE blank stare.

  4. I think the Spa Lady knew that you were at the end of your rope! Thank goodness for people who have some intuition!
She deserves a medal and a BIG HUG!
Unlike the sorry --- who is supposed to be doing your leak repairs. Anything I would say about him wouldn't be fit to print.

  5. Oh Kim, I am so sorry that the snow is so bad and the handyman is awol. Especially when I have been so happy because of the mat you sent and had so many nice comments about it. So go read the nice comments if you need a pick me up. I love the card you sent to, I have read it over and over. You bless me so much I wish I could take a bunch of snow from you. Thanks for your pictures by the way, it just boggles my mind to see that much snow.
I am so glad you made it to the spa today. I am glad it helped. We will be back down to freezing now. I hope you get warm weather soon.
Here is a giant hug O
    Take care my friend.

Maybe it's time to call a different handyman! I'm glad you got a spa treatment and it helped to calm you! It is an excellent way to deal with all the stress. I'll be thinking of you and hoping things start to straighten out there....... and that it doesn't rain any time soon!
