My weekend of "adventures in baking" took an unexpected twist this morning. It started fine and my cinnamon rolls were looking fabulous. (Just so there's no confusion this time.....this is of them raw/un-cooked)
I popped them in the oven and set the timer. Thirteen minutes later I took them out and they looked just about the same. I stuck my arm in the oven and it sure didn't feel like 425 degrees. The bottom element in my oven has died. Please........don't let 2 more appliances crap out!!
But on a positive note, I think I've got the hang of rolling them. I guess I wasted my time running around after work yesterday scouring stores for cornmeal. No cornbread tomorrow :( I don't think I was meant to be a baker.
We got another butt-load of snow today. I ventured out to shovel and after about 15 minutes a random man in a black truck with a plow on the front stopped and took 2 quick swipes across the front of my driveway. Then he waved and drove away. WOW - random act of kindness eh! I took him 2 minutes and probably saved me over an hour of shovelling. So, to the mystery man - THANK YOU
Isn't that nice! I am so glad you have such nice people around you.
ReplyDeleteTotal bummer on the oven. You rolls look wonderful though.
I just can't believe all of the snow.
I hope you have had a wonderful day in spite of it all. :)
I love random acts of kindness -- especially the plow kind!!! It's amazing how much quicker that thing works!! So, do you think that the oven was a problem on the other cinnamon rolls, too?? They look good -- hope an "oven fixer" stops by and you can bake them!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the rolls, my mouth was watering at that picture. :) I hope you can get the oven fixed soon and still bake them.
ReplyDeleteButt load?? LOL Sure never heard snow described that way before. :) Sure was nice of the man to do that.
I'm off to do laundry. Stay warm, take care, Janet W
Man, I don't miss the snow. Our payback is the is the 120 degree summers in Arizona.
ReplyDelete3 cheers for the random act of kindness and muscle saving!!! So did you run to a neighbor's with the cinnamon rolls?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteOne of the first times I ever read your blog was when the oven door fell off. You do have an oven issue but I am sure it will all be fine. I love random acts of kindness.

Oh bother, those darn appliances let one down a little to often...Love to read about random acts of kindness, warms the heart. Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful random act of kindness.
ReplyDeleteHope your oven issue is minor. Oh, the joys of home ownership.
We are getting a butt load of snow today...ugh!
Hugs :)

Sorry about the oven dying on you. I hope you could bake them in a friend or family oven. They sure look good. I'm a sucker for cinnamon rolls. Snow, snow, I have snow blindness from seeing so much snow. Nice man to plow you out.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
JB
Sorry to hear about the oven! I hope it's an easy fix! And what a great RAK!
ReplyDeleteCould you put the rolls in the freezer for baking later?
