It's a storm day

The first blizzard of 2015 is here.  I got the happy call before 7am that work was closed for the day.  And virtually everything else in town.   This was the scene on my street around 8am

The wind is howling now.  I'm all tucked in and ready for whatever comes next.  All my devices are charged up and I made a quick batch of meatballs in the slow cooker.  I did that as soon as I got up in case the power goes out later today.  By the sound of the wind, there's a good chance of that happening.

The rest of the day I plan to stay in my jammies, binge watch Netflix and hook.  I started this the other night and now I have to re-hook the leaves and vine with a lighter green. It's lost in the background.

Candles, flashlights and blankets are ready just in case.  My friend Cathy from Acorn Hollow shared this great snow gauge with me on facebook.  I'll give it a try today :)

  5. I think we have the same amount of snow with wind gusts. You are all tucked in I am now watching a cooking show why I have no idea a movie would be better. The woodstove is going in the basement I have candles and flash lights Oh I think I feel a chill off to get a coffee and Vermont ice;)

  6. You've got the right idea! A snow day is a good time to veg out and enjoy the quiet and the movies! I really hope you don't lose power though. The sun is shining here this afternoon and the snow has stopped. Good luck and stay safe!

  8. Dear Kim, first let me say how sorry I was to read of Millie's passing, my heart skipped a beat, how difficult her loss must be. Pets are such a huge part of our life, coming home to an empty house has to be a huge adjustment even for those with a strong resolve. The wind is gusting, the snow is falling, thankfully not lost our electricity...stay safe my friend...thinking of you...Julie...

  10. I am so sorry that you had to deal with snowmaggedon. I'm sitting on the beach in Hawaii with my toes in the sand watching the waves roll in.

    ( Sorry - that was mean wasn't it?) 😎
