I was chatting with a friend recently and she asked me what I've been doing.  I told her I've just been hanging around the house.  She smiled and said "ah, you're still nesting."  I guess it's true.  I'm a homebody at heart.

Today another round of domesticity hit. It was sunny  with a good breeze, so I put a line of laundry out. I love watching the clothes blow in the wind.  Then I hit the grocery store and saw the first delivery of fresh local strawberries.  I immediately thought PIE.

I think the last time I made a homemade strawberry pie was under the guiding hand of my grandmother when I was a teenager.  I must say it was tasty!  And the smell when it came out of the oven was heaven.   I don't add rhubarb like everyone else.  Mainly because we never did that when I was growing up. Just pure strawberry pie.

Then I went looking for a few small starter house plants.  I found some bright ceramic pots at the dollar store and repotted them.

Nesting is fun!

  1. Oh my, that pie looks so good! And you even made a nice artistic lattice top. You are becoming a cooking queen. BTW, the steaks looked super too.
Not being a lover of rhubarb, I don't ever put it in strawberry pie. I like to keep my strawberries pure!

  2. Your description of the pie has me salivating like Pavlov's dog!!! Yes gurlfren, you're nesting and hope you eventually find the PERFECT mate. Whomever that might be.

  3. My mouth is watering!! Strawberry pie with homemade ice cream, oh my goodness. Sigh....

I love those little pots. Plants give your home character.

  4. It is fun!!! I am so glad you are having fun and getting to play house. I like hearing about it. Your pie is just lovely. I bet it tastes good too.
Just keep playing house! Always my favorite thing to do.

  5. I love nesting, yummy looking pie, my mouth is watering.Blessings Francine.

  6. You sure not wasting your mini vacation sitting around. Your home is starting to feel like Home Sweet Home. Nesting feels good. Great looking pie.
I wish I still could eat strawberries but I've developed sensitivity to them that makes me very very sick.
    Enjoy the great weather.

  7. Hi kim, i too am a homebody and love to change things about in my home!
