Looks like we are ready to start the 2nd year of chatting on the porch with Patrice, oh and Wendell of course, from Everyday Ruralty.
Here are this week's questions:
1. Do you have any special plans for this fall?
It is my favorite season and normally I take at least a week or more off to enjoy the fall scenery. But this year I have heavy work committments this fall so sadly, nothing special is planned.
2. Do you collect anything?
I collect cook books and since I was about 5 years old I collected frogs. It was a "thing" between a beloved uncle and myself. I am now completely over run with frog stuff and despite my urgings to everyone to stop, they just keep coming.
3. Have you done any canning or freezing this season?
I have never. Each year I say I'm going to make one batch of jam and pickled beets. It still hasn't happened :)
4. Do you have a friend who lives far away? Where do they live?
I have a sweet friend in California :) That's far!
5. When in a store, restaurant, or other business, do you ever complain or praise to the management?
I really try not to complain unless it is really horroble or offensive. I have done it a time or two but then I feel terrible and guilty. But if I do get exceptionally great service I always mention it. I work in government so I hear complaints regularly, but if people like things they rarely say it. So because of that I try to comment on positive things as often as possible.
P.S. Only one more work day for me and then 5 days off in a row! I can hardly contain my excitement!!!!
Fall is my favorite season of the year too - I just love it and feel so alive. sandie

So very glad you have some days off. You collect frogs??? Oh my gosh, that is so funny, my grandma did too and she had oodles and oodles of them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to do things like sleep late, stay up late and eat what ever you want. :)
Because I work in the school system I have the whole summer off. The down side to that is I can never take a vacation once school starts unless of course it is a week off that the school has scheduled. I enjoy the fall through the windows of a classroom.
ReplyDeleteI love fall! I feel like I wake up in fall. Since I'm not a hot weather person, fall is always something I look forward to. I have known folks who collected frogs. Cute:) Have a Wendell week!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, Fall is my favorite time of year.Have a good time off,Cheri
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your days off...five in a row, WooHoo !!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those days off - it sounds like fun! I love fall - I'm hoping to have some plans but so far I don't. I collect books too - children's books. I love them, even though we don't have children here very often. I'm glad to hear you say that you try to compliment the good things. I used to work in retail and mostly all we got was complaints. I had one customer who needed her whole supply of bed linens replaced. They'd had skunks under their house when they were on vacation. When they'd returned the skunks weren't happy and let them know it. Everything that was fabric was ruined. I spent over 2 hours after hours one night helping her purchase all of the linens and blankets and pillows she needed. By way of thanks, she sent my manager a lovely note along with a gift certificate for me to Tiffany's! I've never forgotten that.
ReplyDeleteLoved the little look into your life...Enjoy your upcoming days off!
ReplyDeleteYAY THANKS FOR HOPPING BY AND FOLLOWING MY BLOG I LOVE NEW FRIENDS !!! ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF HIP HOORAY FOR YOU ENJOY...LOVE THE PILLOW SO CUTE
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your days off! Fall is my favorite time of year too... and I try to save vacation days for Fall... but, I usually wind up using all the paid days off by mid-year? lol! I think i need a more interesting day job! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if maybe this year will be the year you get that canning done? It's possible! Never give up hope! Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteI'm overrun with owlies!!! ;-) But...after a while, I find others who like owlies and bless them with some of mine! Thanks so much for stopping by Wise Old OWL and chatting!!!
ReplyDeleteI started complimenting all the time when I realized how rare a compliment is. Complaints they get all the time. No fall plans here except to enjoy the cooler weather!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...this one surprised me a wee bit (but just a wee)...and am not quite sure why. Perhaps it was the canning thing. I would have figured you to be a "puttin' up" kind of gal - at least as some stage....and the collections.....cook books and frogs - would've never guessed it. But, alas - isn't fall everyone's favorite??? ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
