Color to "dye" for

I finally took the plunge and made my first attempt at dyeing my own wool.  
I had all my stuff gathered  and re-read the several helpful tips my blog friends have sent me and I was ready.  The wool was soaked.  I only dyed one yard for a start, 2 different colours.  What's the worse that can happen? 
I think I'm hooked.  I made a half yard of pepperberry red and a half of slate blue
Based on the pictures in the dye book, this is what they are supposed to look like!!  At the moment I only have a limited amount of dye colours so my options are still limited but I can't wait to try again next weekend.   I don't know why I waited so long.  This is fun!

    So glad it turned out for you I always dyed to get a certain color and it was always never just right.
    I guess I need to get back at it at some point.

    Oh I am so glad!!! Your colors turned out beautiful. Isn't it addicting!! There is something that just feel so good about pulling that wool out of that pot and watching the color.     Hmm. I don't hook but I have yards of off white wool that I could dye. Or ruin.

    so glad you had success Kim...I love dyeing and sure wish there was time for it...you never know what will come out of the pot...rejects become antique black or brown eventually...

    Wonderful colors and it is fun to see the results of our hand dyed wools, usually mine are surprises, lol. I have a book and swatches to dye all the colors, just using three colors, guess I should use it, but usually I just pick some colors and wools and see what happens;)

    Kim, your dye job looks fantastic, I love those colors. I knew you'd love dyeing. It always feel like opening Christmas gifts when you take the dyed wool out of the pot.

    Those colors are drop-dead GORGEOUS!! My friend always tells me that, if I tried it, I would love it...so I haven't tried it. I know what would happen....just like with paint...some things just would never be the same.... ;o) ~Robin~
