I thought I'd do a little blog catch up on some stuff that happened before I got sick. The day before the flu took over I got a call from a friend. Her neighbor was having a big yard sale the next day as she had to move quickly. She was selling almost everything. But lucky me got invited to go over the night before the sale and get first pick.
The first thing that caught my eye was an old tin. As long as I can remember my grandmother had an old tin she kept buttons in. I always played with it as a child so when I moved I brought it with me. Silly to keep an old beat up tin but it reminded me of her. Well, this lady had an identical tin, a bit larger but in perfect condition. I had to have it.
I also grabbed a pottery wine chiller and a lacy runner. And a set of 3 blue Pyrex mixing bowls.
And one day while digging through the basement at Aunties house I found this old metal stand. I thought it would be cute cleaned up as a coffee station. It was originally white but quite filthy and rusty. I got some red rust paint and spruced it up.
Taadahh! Looks kind of cute, don't ya think?
I'm working on a small hooked piece that was a Facebook challenge from Lori Brechlin. Stay tuned for my version of Santa Claws :)
Tomorrow is turkey day! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving Kim, love the wee red table, looks great... Not bad weather wise here but blustery. Blessings Francine.

ReplyDeleteI have an identical metal table in my kiln room and it's rusty as it went through the big flood. Amazing what a paint job can do. Happy Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving tomorrow! I love that metal stand and every thing looks wonderful. Our air conditioner just came on. What I wouldn't do for days that are fallish.
ReplyDeleteHow fun you did the challenge! Hey, I just sold my second rug in my Etsy store. :)
You were sick when I sold the first one so I didn't get to tell you. I still haven't got to hear ch-ching. Have a lovely day.

It is amazing what you can do with a can of paint. I love it red. Happy Thanksgiving. We are going to be back down to the 30's again tonight. There was frost on the windows this morning, but we made it up to 60 today. I am glad that you are feeling better. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Kim, wow what great finds. :)
ReplyDeleteI always wait as long as I can before turning the heat on in the fall/winter. We have had to have it on a couple times already just to take the chill off. Not for a long time to heat up the place though. Did that make sense?
Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Take care, Janet W
Lucky you to be able to view the sale early. What are the odds of finding an identical tin, that's neat! Hope you are feeling better Kim!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! So glad you are feeling better! Love the coffee station!
