Seeking the elusive

The perfect pillow. Does it exist? I have tried pillow after pillow and I'm still searching. It wasn't that long ago I bought new pillows (again). It's always the same story. The first few weeks of a new pillow are all honeymoon. Then inevitably they get lumpy or flat, or worse - both. Headaches, neck pain, tossing and turning.....

Yet the eternal optimist in me still searches. Recently a friend started raving about her new pillow. It's filled with buckwheat hulls. I know.....you're thinking I'm crazy. But I've asked around and several friends and family have tried them and are pleased. The best part is that they are made locally.

I ordered one after supper online and it was delivered to my door at 8pm. To my door people!!! Amazing right? If the pillow is half as good as the customer service I'm in for a treat. Apparently it takes about a week to adjust to the pillow.

Sweet dreams!

  1. I wish you an easy adjustment to the buckwheat pillow. I've heard good things about them! I've also heard some good comments about Memory Foam, but I'm sure you've tried those.

  8. I've heard of them and I hope you find some relief. If not, just grind up the buckwheat and make some pancakes! (just kidding!) My hubby has pillows that he sells that you fill with water and adjust the firmness...I've never tried one but the feedback we've gotten is good. Who knows, the pillow quest can be very frustrating! Hope your have a good, restful weekend!

  9. Pillows are so tricky to find the right one. And yes once you find it, it breaks in too much and is no longer good. Sigh.

  10. I had a buckwheat pillow but it was OK for my neck but I like sleeping on softness so I did not like mine. I have some arthritis in my neck and I'm always looking for the right pillow too.
So far the gel pillow is better for me but still not perfect. I've tried all kinds of pillows. I can't sleep on firm or too high pillows.
I sure hope that the buckwheat pillow works for you.

I like Yaya's comment about making pancakes with the buckwheat but it's only husks in the pillow. The buck wheat is not included. Ha,ha,ha.

  12. You will have to let us know how you like it. I'm the same way when trying to find a new pillow. I haven't had much luck either.

  13. Since I moved out of my childhood home and left my pillow behind... some 25 years ago... I have not been able to find a good pillow... it seems every year it's a new one... even the down ones aren't any good anymore... must be the variety of duck! lol! I hope the buckwheat pillow works for you!
