It's time to start....

Shopping! Reminders of the impending Christmas season are everywhere. The grocery store is playing Christmas music and even Sirius Radio has started an all-Christmas station. Yippee, it's now programmed as a favorite in the car. (Big sucker for the holiday tunes). And yes, I belt it out when I'm alone in the car. (Don't judge)

But the biggest reminder (for the past few weeks) is the un-ending, whiney, drone coming out of Aunties mouth "ohh, I have nothing bought for anyone. It's only a few weeks away, (blah, blah, blah)." Now imagine that playing over and over in a loop all.freakin.day!

So, I've taken tomorrow off and as soon as we drop Mom at adult daycare, we are heading for the city to shop. And we are not coming home until she has an arm load of bags! (Even if it kills me)

My biggest problem with Christmas shopping?? Not buying everything for myself of course. It's sooo hard. Lol.
In an effort to try and satisfy my urge to buy myself everything, I made a pre-emptive strike. I splurged and ordered myself the most gorgeous gloves. They arrived today.

Danier kid leather black opera length gloves!! Oh my......they are freakin gorgeous. They just are my favorite things ever.

Did I lie? Are they not awesome? Merry Pre-Christmas to ME :)

Wish me luck tomorrow. And give me the strength not to leave auntie in a dressing room if she starts to whine. (Kidding). (Well, sort of....lol)

  6. Hi Kim, You could do my shopping for me. I will be doing it by myself and won't know how to act without pushing a wheel chair this year. Hubby is in the nursing home recuping from a hip replacement. I have already bought one gift. I let my teenage grandson pick his out with me and he can't tell his parents and has to act surprised when he opens the package. The younger ones are easier to buy for. Have a great day. 8. The gloves are the cat's meow. You are a kind soul for taking the day off to take your aunt shopping for Christmas.

I just can't get into the shopping mood as there is nothing I hate more than to go shopping for Christmas. Everybody has too much stuff and it's getting harder to buy for everyone. I get dizzy just looking at the flyers that comes in and in the recycle they all go.

I hope that you enjoy your shopping experience with Auntie.
    Hugs,
    JB

  13. Those gloves are GORGEOUS! I always want to buy gloves and then I never wear them. Sadly, Southern California rarely gets cold enough to wear them. But I do have a stash of them waiting...just in case.
I am a firm believer in the "One for you, Two for me" principle of shopping. It makes Christmas shopping much less of a chore.

  16. Good for you on the gloves! Hope all went well. I am NOT a good shopper. I scan the store and zip out. Mother, on the other hand, wants to pore over items, "deciding" between colors and then deciding to have none of hte above! Can drive me crazy, but I just rein myself in! C.

  18. I'm listening to Christmas music too. My oldest son gets mad because he doesn't like skipping the Thanksgiving celebration and going straight into Christmas, but there's no Thanksgiving music! I love the CD my kids gave me last year with the Peanut's Christmas songs.

Hope your shopping spree went well! God bless.
