Today is the first of several annual budget preparation meetings. It is scheduled from noon until 7pm. Yes...7 hours long. I am not a "numbers" person. This is going to be painful.
I can probably feign interest for the first couple of hours but by about 3pm this will be how I feel. Six adults will each attempt to gain a larger slice of the pie. And if anyone even suspects there are a few dollars unspoken for this could happen.....
And, I suspect that by about 3 pm even the most entertaining excuses that many will offer for why they NEED the extra money will not even un-zombify me. "If I don't get the extra money for X then society will crumble, there will be chaos in the streets....etc".
By 7 pm I think I might need one of the zombie drinks defined in # 4 about. Lots of rum.
Good luck. It sounds like a nightmare meeting. Too bad you can't have that zombie drink mid-way through. It would make all those numbers a lot more interesting late in the day.
ReplyDeleteWell hang in there. I would be gnawing my own leg off I think. I hope this day goes by fast.
ReplyDeleteHugs from me to you.
Have you mastered the art of sleeping with your eyes open??? Might be a good time to catch up on some rest.
ReplyDeleteYeesh!!! How boring! I hate numbers, expecially when pretaining to finance. I'm beginning to feel like the living dead just reading about it.
Oh how I don't miss those kinds of meetings!! Hang in there, it will be over soon!
ReplyDeleteMy advice to you would be to not wear tap shoes to the meeting... lol! (hopefully you have seen/heard the Geico commercial I am referring to)...
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, so funny! I don't know where you get your graphics but they are wonderful. Nothing so boring as a group of dept. heads fighting over money - Pat's right, sleep with your eyes open and your thumbs in your ears.
ReplyDeletenumbers yuck! Kim you a hoot! cheri
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you will be well rehearsed for the zombie apocalypse my son is always talking about! He's a zombie fiend...rather than a fiendish zombie, which I would become if I had to sit through finance meetings. I get a bit off just doing the weekly bills! Better than 26 ten year olds though....but that's just my long week talking!

Well, dang...Kim thanks for the laugh! I like your montage of photos :)
ReplyDeleteWell Kim, It's the end of the day and I hope that you survived the meeting and that you got all the money you were asking for.
ReplyDeleteOne of my friend named Anne, was at a meeting a while back and they wouldn't give her the funds to do what she wanted to do so she took off one of her high heel shoe and pounded on the desk and demanded that they gave her the money she needed or all hell was gonna break loose and by golly she got it.
I'll be off Blogger for a few days but will be back. Stay safe. JB
Kim ~
ReplyDeletePlease let us know that you've survived!!!
Hugs :)
Lauren
Here's to you!! I'll have one in your honor!!! Hang in there!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim your goal of stumping Michelle may just have been accomplished. Still waiting on her post.

A couple of Zombie drinks will discombobulate you, make you feel loopy, or obliterate any trace of a migraine that you have from sitting through that relentless meeting. You go into those meetings somewhat delusional as you grope for every dollar. Then hope is demolished and you just feel like a loser and want to scream "WHATEVER!" You become vindictive and want to throw things at the other people in the room! Sigh. . . .maybe a couple of Zombies before the meeting would have helped.
ReplyDeleteHah!
The word of the week isn't complete until Michelle leaves her mark. And again, she didn't disappoint ! Nicely done...lol
ReplyDeleteDid I mention that I had my red shoes on when I left my comment? Love your new red sandals by the way. Is it any wonder that the "Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie?
ReplyDeleteI thought I spotted a couple of zombies in Walmart the other day :-)
ReplyDeleteI hate budget meeting even budget meetings with my husband and I. I hope you survived and are dancing the night away in those red shoes.

So I hope you are having a nice Thursday evening! I did not do well in Math at school and it still takes me forever to figure out my checkbook where I keep all my charge purchases! Whatever the debit is I just round up and wind up with a few extra bucks :) Last day of March Kim!
