Remnants

Today we must have experienced the remnants of some hurricane or tropical storm passing by. I think we got an entire summers worth of rain all in one day. I arrived home from work cold and damp, feeling Fall.

Not being in the mood to finish my pillow, I dug through my remnant pile and found a small piece of leftover linen. I grabbed the sharpie and started sketching. Feeling fallish, I drew out a small rug with a pumpkin and a crow. I know, not very original but that is what ended up on the linen. It needs some tweaking before I show you.

Now to continue searching for a piece of orangish wool. However, if I can't find it, there's no rule that says a pumpkin has to be orange.....right?

  1. Hello Kim, we need some of that rain, so dry here. Right, a pumpkin does not have to be orange. I mailed your giveaway package yesterday, hope it arrives safe and sound, enjoy. Blessings Francine.

  2. You could make an off white pumpkin, they seem to be everywhere these days.

The rain has stopped here but it's definitely cool fall temperatures. JB

  5. Kim ~
No need to hook an orange pumpkin. I hooked a green pumpkin when I had my Maria Barton (Star Rug Company) class, and I've hooked 3 dirty whitish, 1 bluish and one orange with the hand torn strips and I've pulled wool to hook a black one.
Hugs to you, girlfriend :) I hope you warmed up.

  6. Kim, There is no set rule of what color we make anything. You can do whatever you feel like. We could still use some of the rain in our area. We got some over the weekend, but not near enough. Are you going to show us pictures when you get it finished? I hope so. Have a great day. Your Missouri friend.

  8. You're right. A purple pumpkin sounds fun, now that I think about it. As for the storm...was that the remainder of Isaac, perhaps?

  11. Some of my prettiest pumpkins from my garden were white...so be your creative self and enjoy! We've had the rain, thankfully, but it's left hot and humid air behind! Are we ever happy with the weather?

  13. Kim, I agree with your blogger friends' comments. Make it any colors that strikes your fancy. Life is too short to stick with Orange pumpkins. I think that purple might be real nice.

    Have a great weekend.
