Committed

Over-committed is more like it.  Or maybe "should be committed?"   LOL  I'm a little stressed.

My work committments with the Election has doubled. I hate to admit it, but I am feeling like I've bitten off more than I can chew.  I hate days where I just go go go and get nothing done.

Today I was involved in a group of interviews to fill a vacant position in the organization.  Yes, its important, but it is also a complete waste of a day.  I got nothing accomplished which got me further behind.   Plus there were 2 emergencies which pulled me out of 2 of the interviews mid stream.

I also had a personal committment at lunch time, and of course I was wearing a pair of seriously pointy toe heels.  Why is this important, you might ask?  Well, because I didn't get home for a break at lunch time, my little summer flip flop accustomed wearing feet were mushed into cute, but painful shoes ALL DAY.  By 3pm I was walking on numb stubs at the end of my legs.   Lol

Then there is that panicked call from home.  Yes, I forgot to re-order Mom's presciptions (which she must take regularly) and there are zero pills left in the bottle.  None for her 5pm dose.   Call the pharmacy and the prescription became out-dated last week.  By now it is 4:30 and I am frantic with the pharmacist.  Since she knew what the medication was for, she knew we needed it.  So it was refilled for a few days until I can contact the doctor and get a new prescription.   Whew!

If I can just make it through tomorrow without the nice men in the white coats coming for me, I might be OK.   I am taking Friday off.

  3. Oh you poor thing, and now I feel bad just wining about the stupid rain. I think that they expect too much from you, working over time with more responsibilities than is reasonable especially with having to care for your mom beside work.

Sore feet is not good when you have to think hard.

Go cuddle up with sweet little Millie and she'll make everything better. I hope that you get a good sleep so you'll be able to get your work load done without getting sick.

I'll say a little prayer for you tonight.

    Thinking of you. Hugs.

  6. I haven't wore heels in years and my feet would be killing me if I did! And to think I used to run in my heels without problems... So glad the pharmacist helped you out. I have my prescriptions on automatic refill. When the prescription runs out the pharmacy will actually call my doctor to get a refill for me. The only time I had trouble with a refill was right before my surgery for breast cancer. My allergy meds and the doctor wouldn't call the pharmacy back so I called the doctor and told them about my upcoming surgery and they refilled it no problem.

  7. Hi Kim, The day sounded a little like a few I have been put through where you have done everything for other people nothing for you. Our Pharmacy faxes our doctor when they need a new prescription, but they do give me medication to tide me over until they get the new script. Won't you be glad when the election is over. I liked your pumpkin. Have a great Friday off. Hugs from Your Missouri Friend

  12. My feet have NO idea what pointy toe heels are. I don't think I could walk in a pair of those if my life depended on it :)
Repeat after me, "I'm off tomorrow, I'm off tomorrow". I hope you have something planned ~ just for you!
    Hugs :)

  13. You need chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolates. I keep a jar of Junior Mints on my desk for days just like you described. I just need to learn to say No. Hope today goes better for you.

  14. I hope today is a better day for you. I am so glad you were able to get your Mom's medication. I hope you have a lovely day off on Friday. I know you need it, I had to laugh at the stubs at the end of your legs, I know just what that feels like.
Hang in there my friend. You are almost to Friday!

  17. I'm so glad you stopped by to 'visit' me! I can see by this blog that you DO seriously have your hands full. Wow!... I'm glad the pharmacist helped you out for a few days. It is hard to keep all the balls in the air sometimes, isn't it? Thank God that He knows that, and gets us through those days too. :)

The feet in the cute heels made me smile, boy have I been THERE! I do love cute shoes though...

Have a great weekend, be good to yourself and put your feet up and relax a little bit. You've earned it.
