Happy hour

This week Happy Hour took on a different twist.  By the end of the week all I wanted to do was come  home and curl up with a cup of hot tea.  Friends and martini's can do without me today.

The weather is cooling nicely.  The boots are all out and ready for duty.  This weekend, hopefully the cozy sweaters will be called into service.  Many of you have inquired about Millie.  She is doing fine although still quirky.  She is drinking water but not yet on her own.  But will drink happily out of my palm.  Baby steps!

Before anyone thinks I'm enabling the problem, let me set this straight.  This house is often chaos.  Between my full time job, household duties, Mom's care and now Auntie with a severe bout of sciatic back issues - I am doing whatever I have to do to keep things moving.  Sometimes you have to sacrifice common sense and just get it done.  So if I can get her to drink out of my hand in 2 minutes, I'm doing it.

Are you picking up on the fact that by the end of the week I am exhausted?  I thought some rug hooking might be relaxing tonight.  I hooked about 15 minutes and needed to cut a little more wool.  Instead I just put it all away.  Sad, right?

I decided to just drink another cup of tea with my baby fur ball at my side.

  1. It's been really chilly here...in fact Cleveland..60mi. north of us...had 5in. of snow this week! Thankfully, we only had a few flakes in the air! But sweaters and boots are now the fashion! So enjoy your weekend and Millie and just relax..I don't know how you do all that you do!

  3. Sounds like a great way to spend an evening and kick off the weekend....if I liked tea.... Had a long day of running about myself and just want to curl up and slip away.... It's cold, windy and blustery here, and my homing instincts are kicking in. But I can say I was more efficient than you in one regard....I didn't even bother getting the hooking out....that way I didn't have to put it away ;-) Have a warm, cozy, and restful weekend my friend.... 10. I know the feeling all too well, sometimes all I want to do is cocoon and sip a hot cup of tea.

Working full time and being a care giver is just about enough anybody could take. Aging pet also need special care even if it's drinking for their momma's hand. Don't feel that you are letting anyone down. I'm sure that your friends understand.
Hugs for you and that little white fur ball.

  11. I hope it is a restful weekend. Your poor Auntie, that is the worst having that kind of back pain. I just hope you can relax today.

  12. I say - "Do what you need to do to maintain your sanity!" My husband suspects he is having sciatic pain. Not at all a comfortable feeling! My best to your Auntie. Have another cup of tea, and just relax!

  14. I can relate! Sometimes you just need to take a bit of time just for yourself and do NOTHING!
