Haunting houses

It seems like the worst is over.  The fever, sweats and dizziness have passed and all that is left is congestion and mild sore throat.  Mom is holding her own.  Or at least I think she is - poor thing can't really tell us what's wrong so we just guess and do the best we can.

Yesterday a family friend arrived at the door with a pot of turkey soup, 2 dozen warm biscuits and a jar of strawberry jam.  What an angel!  Because yesterday was rough and it was awesome not to have to worry about food.

It's nice to have friends like that to look out for us.  It is also nice to get so many sweet comments from all of you.  Each one made me feel better!

I have been either in bed or on the sofa in jammies for 2 days.  Auntie told me this evening that its a good thing its so close to Halloween.......BECAUSE I COULD HAUNT HOUSES!!
LOL.  And sadly, she is correct!  I look like a witch.  Tomorrow I will actually get dressed and showered so not to scare the trick or treaters!

Happy Halloween.

  1. Kim, way to go girl. I'm so glad that you are getting over the worst. Please take it easy. I had the same symptoms and the cold just seem to have taken a liking to me and wont leave. Pamper yourself and don't rush back to work too soon. Happy Halloween JB

  4. Kim, just finished getting caught up with your blog. I am sorry to find you have been ill. Hope you, your mom and auntie are on the mend. BTW, was curious to know if you received a flu shot? I can't believe flu season has arrived so soon! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and love the photo of Miss Millie. Happy Halloween.

What a nice surprise from your friend. It's no fun having to make meals when you're feeling miserable.

  6. I loved the card, I have days like that too. So glad you are up and around and I am so happy your friend stopped by with a pot of soup. I was doing a little hooking today and I was thinking about you and wondering what you were doing. Thanks for your kind words about my dog.
Well get better and keep resting.
I think two of my sons had that last week. They are up and around now.

  13. Hi Kim,
I am so far behind on reading everyone's blogs! I sure hope you and Mom and Auntie are on the mend and feeling like eating a little of the left over Halloween candy. You are so blessed to have such good friends and neighbors to bring you turkey soup and bisquits and jam! Sounds like my sweet neighbors Mary and Lisa. Now they will be Mom's neighbors too when she moves into her new house! Stay well and spunky!
    Hugs!
