Well, that has been the question for days. Will Hurricane Earl hit us or miss us? It seems like he is going to hit us but luckily he is weakening as the evening progresses. However, even a strong tropical storm will very likely knock out our power for awhile.
So just in case I am without the luxury of electronics tomorrow I thought I might start a new little rug.
My thoughts are that hooking a cute little cuddly bunny might help me forget the torrential rain and winds that we will be experiencing when I wake up. Plus, I have about 3 or 4 grocery bags full of leftover wool worms from other projects. So I hope to make a dent in the pile with this little guy.
I spent my day doing pre-storm prep. Earl was still a category 2 this morning, so I hit the grocery store and stocked up on some supplies and then took all the patio furniture apart and dragged it into the basement. NOT a fun chore will all this darn humidity we have been having all week. That is the upside of Earl --- he will take the heat wave with him!
Now I guess all that is left to do is wait and ride it out.

ReplyDeleteI hope Earl spares you and you ride out the storm with electricity.
Happy hookin' to you!
Pug hugs :)

I hope it cools it off but without any damage!
ReplyDeleteI love your bunny rug. It reminds me of our bunny.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you don't loose your power, and I am glad it will cool off.
It sounds like Earl is becoming a non event if the weather guy is correct.
I hope it turns out to be just nice uneventful weekend.
Kim,
ReplyDeleteStay safe through whatever happens! The weather channel has been reporting that Earl is weakening.....hopefully a lot before it reaches you! The weather here has cooled off dramatically. Had to dig out some long sleeve shirts!! That bunny pattern is adorable! Keep us posted!
Hugs!

Good Morning Kim! Hope all is well there and that you still have power and that you got some work done on your bunny with no big worries about Earl. And heat and humidity, be gone!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Kim! I hope Earl was a miss for you! It was too far out in the ocean to affect where I live, and I am thankful. Though we sure could have used some rain. The cool weather that followed behind the storm is here and feels GREAT! I hope you are enjoying some relief today as well! Love the bunny pattern! Is he your design?
ReplyDeleteI like the new rug project. Reminds me of M Shaw designs.
ReplyDeleteStay safe my friend.
Hi Kim
ReplyDeleteLove the new project! Earle is going to come very close to us on the West Coast of NL. Just finished tying down everything loose and fingers crossed, you and I will be safe and sound...oh yes, Maddy and Millie too!!
Hope he doesn't cause any damage for you. Love the bunny. I'm so missing my hooking...it's a bright light waiting when I return to NM for a while later this fall. Hope you get lots of hooking done this weekend!
ReplyDeleteQuick update: Wind and rain is picking up! The CBC is reporting that over 112,000 homes are now without electricty(12:30pm). It looks like just a matter of time before we go dark! The trees around my house are swaying.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I'm so hoping that you are all safe and that the storm will pass without destruction. Loosing electricity is no fun but is not as bad as destruction of property. I'm so late in checking your blog and I'm just waiting for an update to know that all is OK with you and your family. Hang in there KIm. It will all come to pass. The wind and rain is really picking up here in Fredericton right now. JB
ReplyDeleteIt seems that about 15 minutes after I posted the last update - the winds virtually died off and rain switched to a light drizzle. Go figure! Not complaining...we got lucky. Other parts of NS hit much harder. We were a definate miss!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all your concern - I really appreciate it!
CONGRATULATIONS KIM ON BEING CHOSEN AS FEATURED BLOG TODAY. JB
