Fall Pumpkin

I'm in the mood to hook some little autumn rugs.  The fancy yarn I bought from Heidi at London-Wul last week put me in the mood.  I thought it might be fun to hook several small little mats, all incorporating this yarn in some way.

Here is the first little one.  It measures approx. 9x9 inches.
This is a large piece of burlap so I can probably get 4 across the same size.  I'm not sure what the next one will be yet.  I love these little projects.  I hooked this Saturday night and today.

I had so much fun I thought I needed some more fall colored wool.  (I didn't but when has that ever stopped me)  I arranged to meet Corinne (Momz Wool) at her house in her new little studio.  She is getting it fixed up so cute.  I intended to buy 1 piece.  But she started telling me a story, and I don't know if she did it on purpose but the longer she talked - the bigger my pile got!   Nice strategy Corinne!  LOL

This is what I came home with.....
So, I shouldn't have any shortage of wool for the next 3 little projects.   Such great colors eh!

  1. It is a real cute pumpkin. I love the little mats. It sounds so nice to be hooking on a September day. I like your new colors too.

  2. Kim,
That little pumpkin is adorable! I love those colors on your new wool! Fall is my favorite season to hook........the colors are so yummy!

  3. Wow Kim, that wool you purchased at London- Wul sure adds some Pesazz
to your cute little pumpkin. The wool should put you in the fall mood even though the leaves are not at their best yet. JB

  4. You inspire me to try small size mats, Kim. It would be fun to accomplish something faster than the time it takes to hook a large piece. Plus the small ones don't take as much wool. Nice pumpkin! /deb

  5. Cute punkin' mat! That yarn jazzed it up real nice! Love your new wool selections... ahhhh autumn! :-)

  6. Love the pumpkin mat and the new wool! I'm inspired to dig my wool out. I know I have a fall wool bundle. If I just didn't have so many things on the 'to do' list for today. sigh Maybe this evening ;)

  7. What great colors! Yellows are my favorite...
