Flowers......for now

Yes, I'm still here.  I'm still unpacking, sorting and organizing.  And at least 3 times a day I discover something I need and make several runs to the stores.  It is coming together, albeit slowly.  And my whole body is sore from lifting and lugging upstairs, downstairs, the basement or the garage.  But it's so much fun!

At this point every room is still a bit of chaos and confusion but I thought I'd share some of the flowers around the house.  Most of you are all gardeners.  And as you know, I am not.  So before the flowers and shrubs around the house commit suicide to evade the slow torturous death I will surely inflict on them I thought you should see them.

The climbing clematis was beautiful the week before I moved in.  However since I appeared, the blooms have all disappeared.  Coincidence?? Or did it see me coming and decide to send me a message??  Lol

The house was vacant for about 6 months so some of my friends have mentioned that there are a lot of weeds in the front beds.  Since I can't tell the difference I guess I will wait until Spring and invite some Green Thumbs over for a "garden party".  They can fix the beds and I'll provide the wine.  That seems fair, right?

  1. Gardner or not, your flowers are beautiful.
The weeds keep coming in mine and I always loose the battle of the weeds since they all come to seed about this time of year.

I'm so glad that you are settling in. It must be exciting to do what you want without having to please someone else. How is Millie settling in the new place?

I'm looking to reading your blog again even though I'm spending less and less time on the computer since i have company for a while.

Enjoy another glass of wine. I wish I could join you.

  2. Hey Kim, to keep the flower beds looking nice it's gonna take more than one party! LOL!! Flowers are a lot of work, just ask Julia. Don;t want to discourage you, but you may be buying a lot of wine!
    They are beautiful!

  3. Glad you're having fun getting settled. As for the flowers, even if I lived closer, I would be of no help...haha. Have a great weekend!

  4. You have a lovely yard. The hot pink flower is bee balm and the hummingbirds love it. If you rub one of the leaves between your fingers, it has a mint smell. You also have cone flowers and black eyed Susans and all of the above will return year after year!

  5. I love your gardens! You really have beautiful flowers growing there. I just know you are have so much fun.
    It all looks great!

  6. The flowers are beautiful and I think your "garden party" sounds like fun. Wish I could come.. I would bring CH, he is great with flower beds. And I am great with wine.. :)

  7. The flowers have welcomed you to your new home and they will return next year. Your wine and garden party is a fine idea.

  8. such pretty flowers! I think that is a great idea with the garden party.

  9. Your flowers are lovely. Maybe they haven't gotten the memo that you moved in and will flourish!
    Hugs :)

  10. You should have asked the weed noticing friends to pull them out and show you so you can identify them next year. Worth a try!

  11. I love fall, but it's so sad to see the pretty flowers go away! Those are beautiful.

  12. Pretty flowers, a garden party sounds like a good idea!

  13. I have discovered that I've missed some of your posts! How did that happen?:-)

I don't have much of a "green thumb," either, and weeding would definitely not be on my list of favorite things to do. I'll help pour the wine.:-)
