Weekend Update

Hi folks.  You guys made me laugh with all your comments about yesterday's "almost" road rage incident.  I was still fairly mad all the way home but once I typed out the post I was laughing too.

I had lots of things I should have done this weekend but instead I retreated to the hooking frame and forgot about everything else.  I will probably pay for it tomorrow but it felt good to not think about anything and just create something.

I finished the candle mat and also finished another little holiday mat.  I love the wool I used for the border.  I think I have enough left for another little something.  Just waiting for the idea.

There is enough linen left for one more little mat on the end of this piece.  The only downside is that when I finish I will have 4 mats to bind before Christmas.  And it is a well established fact that I do not enjoy that part and procrastinate, and procrastinate, and procrastinate.   Fingers crossed that I don't do that this time.

Here is a little peek at the current mat.  I added a little sparkly ribbon to this one.  I love this ribbon and luckily I bought some ahead because you can't get it anymore.  I treat it like gold now.

So that is the results of my lazy weekend.   Have a great week.

  1. Not so lazy at all! I finished the whipping of a rug this weekend! I was so thrilled. Now I just have to tack town the binding tape. I don't like finishing myself...but, it's great when it's done. Your Christmas mats are great!

  4. It looks so nice and pretty, Hey, I am still laughing at your Saturday morning trip. I laughed every time I got in my car, because well you know, I drive a big car like that. Only it is illegal to talk on a cell phone in California.
I hope you have a nice week. I am still on blogging break but I just missed you and needed a Kim Fix.
    You always are so entertaining.
    Talk to you soon.

  5. Your Noel mat is adorable Kim!! Wish I could be as "unproductive" as you are....Maybe I have to work out a deal and bind up your little mats for you and you can, ummmmm...finish up a by-now-very-late syllabus? Oh heck....it was worth a try. Have a great week...Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  8. The mats look fabulous! You made the right choice to sit and hook. I've learned that there is always "something that needs to be done"... so, every once in awhile, you just need to stop and take some time for yourself!

  13. Kim, sorry I'm lagging behind with my comments this week. I've been busier than usual this week.

Your little mat is so beautiful. I love that ribbon. I'm glad that you took time off to hook and just let everything go for a little while. As you can see, the world is still going around and you have recharged your batteries. Maybe I need to do that too.

    Hugs, JB
