Today I am joining up with a blog hop hosting by Java at Never Growing Old.
This is what it is all about, in Java's words:
Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!
So each week she posts 5 questions for us to answer about ourselves. Here we go
1. I wish I had more time to . . . . play a musical instrument again.
I played when I was younger for about 6 years and have stopped for about 28 years. But lately in the past few weeks I have wanted to resume this pastime. However after 28 years, it will be like starting from scratch.
2. What is your favorite kind of soup ?
I think I would have to say chowder, or really any kind of cream soup. No matter what it is I always tend to gravitate towards the one that's not good for you :) (P.S. This goes for more than just soup hehehe)
3. Where will you eat Thanksgiving Dinner ?
In Canada, we had our Thanksgiving last month in October. The family and a few friends all gather at my house. It is a favorite holiday of mine and I am a bit jealous of you Americans for having it now. So, I am open to invitations if you want to invite me over ! Lol
4. What is your favorite time of the day ?
This one is easy - first thing in the morning. I have my cup of coffee, the morning paper and then a few blogs to read. It is really the only time I have to myself for the whole day. Its my time to re-charge and have a few quiet moments.
5. Did you start your Christmas Shopping yet ?
Well, I was all gung-ho and got a fair number of gifts bought in August. (a first for me) I have since picked up a few more plus made a few. I'm not done by far, but am in better shape than other years at this time.
Make sure to stop by Java's site to check out the other participants in todays hop.
I played the clarinet, too! And I know, I need to get busy on the shopping... I thought about running for president of the procrastinators club, but didn't get around to it. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog, Through the Eyes of a Tiger. I'm following back :)
Oh so glad you did one of these, I love learning about you. Okay, You are invited to my house on Thanksgiving Day. I will have tons of food and all of it fattening. Wear those loose clothes you wore when you had your Thanksgiving in October.
ReplyDeleteI played the Clarinet too. I still have mine in my closet and I take it out from time to time. I think I need to take it to the music store and have the pads all changed. It would be fun to play again.
I love that your favorite time of day is morning.
This is a fun post, glad you joined.
Yeah, another morning person. I was beginning to think that I was the only one. Buzz on down to Phoenix and you all can have Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter's. She won't mind. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteLove these posts Kim - but where's the random thought today??? ;o) You're definitely invited for Thanksgiving - and I'm probably closer than your other invites so far....just fair warning - I'm making the turkeys and dressing.... ;o) Arghhh - mornings...not me. Hence - Thanksgiving dinner may be a wee bit late seeing my siblings (who should know me by know but always insist on challenging me) put me in charge of the turkeys.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteoops....dang typos...should have been "know me by NOW" - but I bet you figured that out, huh??? ;o)
ReplyDeleteAdd me to the list of invites. It's at our house. My MIL is making the pie...I'm doing old fashioned Indian Pudding for dessert. I love these questions and learning about you! My father played the clarinet...and I love the mornings, too!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Kim
ReplyDeleteIt was nice getting to know you a little better.
Now I know you live in Canada too!
Hi Kim, I also like coffee in the morning. It's fun knowing alittle more about you. Have a nice week , Cheri
ReplyDeleteKim ~
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!! I'm NOT a morning person (though I now get up at 5:30 a.m. - arhg!) and I start my day with a diet Coke.
Hugs :)
Lauren
I don't play clarinet but I love listening to it. Nice to know that you played the clarinet. I hope that you make time to play it again. I too love chowders, especially seafood chowders and I love my morning coffee after I com in from the farm.

I am with you - the first sip of coffee is the way to start the day. sandie
ReplyDeleteI've been toying with the idea of buying a flute; I played in high school, college, and after college for weddings and church. I just don't have the time, but I think it would be easy to pick it back up. Once your muscle memory kicks back in, it would be a snap!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is planning on riding his motorcycle to Nova Scotia this summer!
Thanks for visiting, commenting, and following!
That was really fun. I wish I had done some shopping in August. I just got back from the mall and bought a few things to get the Christmas ball rolling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your life with us. It would be fun to gather a bunch of us bloggers together and see if we could find each other and match us up with our blogs..like a blogger scavenger hunt! Hey, come on down for Thanksgiving..we're not that far from Canada..I'll even make some Canadian bacon in your honor!
ReplyDeleteI too like the moring and watching the sun rise this time of year. come on over for thanksgiving. It will be quiet but I am making chocolate cream pie. I am not musical at all. and not one gift bought and not sure there will be many. I am counting on my daughter to pick up what I need.

Kim... First I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family..... Wish I had more time to spend with my family... My favorite soup is cream of potato... Will be having Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-law's with my husband family.... I really do not have a special time that day, just glad to be alive.... And oh yes I started Christmas shopping. I do a lot on Amazon.com ,there is nothing like coming right to the door....

I played the clarinet and would love to take it up again. But, as you say, it'd be like starting from scratch and who has that kind of patience? LOL
ReplyDeleteIrish potato soup for me!
