Yes, I admit it - I can be a bit of a drama queen. But today I just may be taking it to the max.
Prepare to mock me - it's OK - I know I deserve it. Even I am mocking myself.
This morning I was at the hospital. Nothing serious but it involved me getting . . . . . .(brace yourself) . . . . . a few stitches.
ACCKKK Nothing, and I mean nothing is more horrifying to me than stitches . . . . in flesh . . . . my flesh. Gross
At this point if Yaya is reading this (she works in an Operating room) she is probably on the floor laughing at me.
Seriously I am dying here. You would think I had a major amputation or something the way I am carrying on. I left the hospital and was all "jello-legged" and my stomach has been squeamish all day. Its gonna be a long week. And I don't even want to think about what happens in a few days when I have to change the dressing myself. I will probably faint - Seriously.
(Gumdrop Cake recipe to follow - maybe tomorrow - unless I die tonight from the stitches) seriously - Gross
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI don'tmean to laugh ... LoL! LOL! lol!!!!! Really????? You would have never made it through my childhood .... that's how I learned to sew! LoL!
I'm sorry... I so hope you make it through the night!
Have a great week!
Teri
I always wondered how I would know if I needed stitches...until the day I needed stitches. Clearly this is no place to delight you with the details, so I hope you are coping better tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteKim, dare we ask how it happened?Being in a hospital E.R. setting is scary. I hope you feel better. Cheri
ReplyDeleteLOL! Oh goodness. Sounds like me and needles... I HATE having my blood drawn. What did you do that required stitches??
ReplyDeleteLet me know what I can do, want me to run over and pick you up???
ReplyDeleteDare we ask where the stitches are on your body and what you did to merit them?
ReplyDeleteI swear, no matter what you do, you entertain us and make us laugh!
Pug hugs :)
Lauren
I'm glad you've lived so far and I'm not on the floor laughing...really, I managed to stay on my chair! Now, you don't say where the stitches are so I won't pass judgement...people have many reactions to hospitals, needles, blood, etc. The other day they called a code blue in the lab draw dept...up in surgery we all smiled and said, "I bet they just passed out from getting their blood drawn"..sure enough, a few seconds later the code was called off..we just smiled..(ok, laughed)Just get better and have a friend help with the dressing change.
ReplyDeleteI hope you survive this terrible ordeal. And change your own dressing--Maybe they will nominate you for a medal or something. Rest easy.
ReplyDeleteI don't like that either! I will faint with you!
ReplyDeleteAll this drama and no back story!! I've only had stitches once and it would be indelicate to share. I raised boys, though, so stitches were part of life. Hope you feel better soon---for real!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Giggle, giggle, snort, snort. SORRY!! Couldn't help myself...If you'd have had as many pounds of flesh removed from yourself as I have, you wouldn't have even flinched....And yea - I get to change my son's dressing on Thursday. Yippee Skippy.... So, come on - fess up - what the heck did you do??!! We all need some more smiles.... ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteOkay Princess ~ It's time to suck it up and bite the bullet. You never came across to me as squimish with all your needle work and possible jabs the wrong way sometimes. HOWEVER .... since we don't know the nature of the stitches or what adventure you got yourself into, I hug you and hope you make it through the next day and won't faint with the dressing change.
ReplyDeleteKim - what happened???!!! sandie
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry! I hate stitches too.
ReplyDeleteI've had stitches so I know what you mean. It's a bit surreal watching them do it - but also very interesting. I think I could have had a career in surgery, as long as it wasn't my own.
ReplyDeleteI have to say the comments are funny hope they are making you feel better.I live with a husband who has stitches hanging out of something all the time. So I am use to it. good luch changing the bandage and sorry you hurt yourself.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Kim, owieeeeeeeee! Hope you are doing better this morning.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what in the world did you do????
ReplyDeleteLOL - sorry! I'm a nurse. I've seen great big men with tattoos all over their bodies be the biggest babies when it comes to getting stitches. Don't feel bad.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, I'm a pansy too. Still, I couldn't help but giggle (just a little bit!)
ReplyDeleteOH no what in the world did you do to need stitches.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I had to laugh just a little about how gross this is to you and you might faint. lol
It is not funny and I hope you are ok please let me know.
Also come by and enter my giveaway and let me know how you are
