I am anticipating the arrival of all things Spring.  Green grass, tulip sprouts, new blossoms on trees, putting out the patio furniture, throwing something on the bbq for supper, sitting outside without needing to wear an arctic parka......

Yesterday it was plus 11 degrees and then it rained.  So virtually all the dirty crusty old snow has disappeared.   I anticipate road trips with the camera to get that perfect spring image.

I am also anticipating that our annual operating budget will be passed soon so we can get on with business.  I am REALLY anticipating getting approvals to proceed with the hiring of our summer students in the next month.  Mainly because I am sick to death of parents calling me "daily" to give their kid a job.  Here's a hint people.......send the student in themselves so I can see that they are ambitious and want to work.  (Arrgh, sorry had to get that rant in there)  Oh, and P.S.  stop bugging me at the grocery store.  You see me there every week and barely nod but come April I'm your favorite person.  I'm not stupid !

I also anticipate the Easter weekend coming soon.  Since Easter is later this year, the darn easter candy has been in the stores since February 15th and I am sick of eating it.  (yes, I know....self control.  Well I don't have any !)

Speaking of no self control, I am anticipating a call from the accountant any minute telling me our taxes are done - so I can see how much wool I can buy.  (hehehe  Watch me jinx it and end up owing money!)
What are you anticipating this time of year?

  1. Hey I like that, and really candy has been in the store since Feb. 15th? I hope you get a huge refund and I like your rant. I think I am looking forward to all the things you are too. Spring is such a nice time of year.

  5. I'm anticipating raking my yard, fixing the mess the plow made on my front lawn this winter, cleaning my flower beds, seeing my first robins and humming birds, seeing some pussy willows on the side of the road and feeling the warm sunshine on my face while I'm working outdoors.

Kim, I like your ranting too. Funny, you don't look like a ranting person to me when I saw you to face, but I sympathize with you about people asking for jobs for their kids. What are they thinking?

    I love spring. JB

  7. Hey, Kim, I loved seeing the pictures of you on Julia's blog. You look so young! How can you have an elderly Mom when you only look about 30???
And you don't have to eat all that Easter candy all by yourself. There starving old fat ladies in PA who would be glad to help you. I will be waiting in Anticipation!!! hahaha!!!

  8. I am anticipating an awesome tan as I drink a couple of Zombies by the pool! Delusional? Loopy? Discombobulated? NO! I am in Florida!! Feeling vindictive towards the relentless winter, I hopped a flight and I am going to obliterate my winter palor. You want to call me a LOSER don't you Kim? Whatever! Back to the pool to demolish a few more Zombies which may just give me a migraine. . . .I may have to grope my way back to the condo.

    (Wish you were here!)

  9. Gee, if I had known Michelle was lounging in the sun, by a pool, drinking zombies - this weeks word would have been "jealous" LOL

  10. I was anticipating Michelle's response. Kim I love the word and I also enjoy the feeling of anticipation. It usually accompanies good things I don't know too many people who would say they anticipate a Root canal or some other equally nasty event.

  13. Hope you do get a refund, Kim...mine has been sent to the accountants and when they call to tell me it is finished and ready (each year) to be picked up, I always say "give me a minute to get to my chair and give me the result"....
So I am ANTICIPATING the government will get more money this year....blah!! looking forward to Summer as I don't think we will get Spring this year....

  14. I am anticipating spring, we still have a lot of snow. I have a friend that hires summer staff and any parent that calls to get their child a job the application goes in the circular file. Here is a new idea kids go get your own job and parents stay out of it. My taxes are in and I am hoping the goverment does not shut down so I can get my little refund.I want to stimulate the economy with it. always doing my part:)
