Wednesday Word of the Week

This weeks word is  STIFLE

sti·fle  [stahy-fuhl]

verb, -fled, -fling.

–verb (used with object)

1. to quell, crush, or end by force: to stifle a revolt; to stifle free expression.

2. to suppress, curb, or withhold: to stifle a yawn.

3. to kill by impeding respiration; smother.

–verb (used without object)

4. to suffer from difficulty in breathing, as in a close atmosphere.

5. to become stifled or suffocated.

Blogger has stifled me.  Do you think they are sending me a message that I yap on and on too much??   I can't leave any comments on any of your blogs.

I am reading your posts but my wise and thoughtful opinions are being stifled.  (OK maybe I stretched it a teeny bit with the wise thoughtful remark)   Lol   I meant my silly rambling remarks on all YOUR wise thoughtful posts are not being recorded.

I love this cat.  Sometimes when I am rambling I imagine this is what you all are thinking.......hahahaha

It makes me twitchy.   I feel disconnected.  I checked with Blogger Known Issues and apparently it is not just me and they are working on it.

I have spent the majority of the past 2 days in meetings.  At times I envisioned myself as Archie Bunker and it was all I could do not to scream "Oh Stifle it".   But that would have been a BAD career move.
However, in the meantime, I will keep reading your posts and wait until blogger decides to stop stifling my comments - but for now....my hands are tied

  1. I laughed out loud at the Archie Bunker comment. I often feel like that especially at work. Thanks for brightening a dreary day. Now to await Michelle's response.

  4. Dearest Kim - Blogger is driving me BONKERS!! (Hey - another word of the week for ya....) So far, I have figured out that I can ONLY leave comments of blogs that have their "comments" setting (in their dashboard) set to "pop up" or "full page" (if it's set to "embedded after post" I can a run-around sign-in trip....) Other people are not having a problem. For now, I've changed my comment setting, so you SHOULD be able to comment on my site (I think!) I'm also trying something right now and have accessed Blogger through a different web browser (Foxfire vs. Internet Explorer)....we'll see if it works any better....If you get this comment, you know it worked! Smiles & Hugs, Robin

  5. Kim I wish that this hadn't happened especially on your Birthday. It just isn't fair. There I was hoping that a lot of your blogger friends would be able to leave some birthday greetings early on your blog and I was even late for work posting my silly little blog post but Blogger screwed up.

I rely on Rug Hooking Daily to tell me who's birthday it is every day and then like a little gremlin, I go and sound the horn. This time it backfired, lol. I'll try again next year. Hugs, JB

  6. I have been having trouble leaving comments on some blogs too but it seems to be working fine again. Nothing worse than blabbering a whole comment and getting it sounding like you want and hit the send button and then it doesn't work!!!!
It's like someone just told you to put a sock in it!!! LOL!
    Stifled for sure!

  7. I hope they get it fixed soon as I miss your lovely comments. It has happened to me in the past but so far has not happened today.
I hope they get it fixed soon.

  8. Kim – I hope you had lots of whipped cream on those birthday cakes – you deserve the hoopla! Did the relentless sugar make you loopy or make you into a sugar zombie? Stifle the diet! The cake calories can be obliterated after the celebrating is done. We should all anticipate and appreciate each birthday no matter what age. I’ve never understood people who don’t want to celebrate their age. Balderdash! It’s better than the alternative. Are they delusional? You can be a chameleon at any age!

I don’t think the issues with Blogger are just with you. My comments keep getting lost and it’s making me ferocious and giving me a migraine. I’m vindictive and I just want to demolish the system! I have to grope through my mind and retype until I am discombobulated. WHATEVER!!

  13. Denise - Thank you for your comments! Kim has suggested a blog also. I have toyed with the idea but not sure I have the time or that much to say! Maybe one day I will and you will become a follower! The recent issues with Blogger are enough to frighten anyone away!
