Update on Spot's progress

A little more has been hooked on Spot.  This was a freebie pattern by Sally Van Nuys.  I admit it's been fun to play with the pile of worms. It doesn't seem to have made a dent in them though.

I've embraced the wonkyness.  The next time I post about Spot, it will be done

I'm not sure what to do with that bottom bar.  I was going to do hit and miss in straight horizontal lines but my worms are all different sizes from 6 to 8.5 and with the lines not being straight I don't think that will work.  Well actually I KNOW it won't work.

I'm going to put it aside tonight and give it some more thought. I think it needs something a little more subtle to offset the crazy of the rest of it.  I hate to cut more worms......

  3. Kim, couldn't you re-draw the bottom line to make it straight and then continue with the hit/miss? If not, I'm sure curious to see how you finish it. Happy thinking!

  5. Kim, I just love it. Spot is coming along nicely. I love how colorful you've made it. Maybe for the bottom part you can make a word. Like 'Wonky Rug' or something. :)

Well think long and hard. :) Can't wait to see it finished.

    Take care, Janet W

  7. Spot definitely has character and ya done good. All the above suggestions are good ones for the bottom. When looking at it wondered what ideas I might come up with. You could with the same hit and miss blocks as you have on the other 3 sides, or hit and miss straight lines (even with different size strips), or you could continue with the green grass and do circles as you have it the can but they might (hopefully) look like little flowers. there.

  9. I think that you should hook WELCOME at the bottom and put where everyone will see it by the front entrance... He definitely has character and won't go un-noticed... The wonkiness just adds interest, believe me...

  10. Being the owner of a "wonky" real live cat I'd say it's a perfect creation! I'm betting you'll come up with a winner finish. Can't wait to see it! Have a good Friday!

  11. This rug is so cute! Love the hit and miss and the wonkiness of it all.... can't decide what to suggest on the bottom though. Maybe a hit n miss with similar colors?
