Happy Feet and very unhappy eyes

Today I got a nice surprise in the mail.   The contents of the envelope made my feet very happy.

These beautiful hand knit socks from my friend Meg.  They are so comfy and the color looks like Spring.  I love them.  Meg knits all kinds of beautiful things.  You can check them out at Little Bit of Knittery.

Now for the 2nd part of this post title.  My eyes may be permanently damaged from what I saw tonight.  (If you are local and reading this - don't blab)   This is probably something I shouldn't share but I can't help myself.

I was working late tonight with a large group.  We had about a 5 minute break before the televised portion of the meeting.   It was the only opportunity for a bathroom break.  I headed to the other side of the building to the washroom.  I was wearing my high heel boots and clicked loudly all the way across the tile floors.  (This is important as it proves I was making noise - not sneaking)

I got to the door and flung it open........and then IT HAPPENED

The door opened and the bathroom was not empty.  He yelled NO - (about 5 seconds too late I might add) at the same time I screamed (more like a traumatizing groan).  I slammed the door and ran to the end of the hall.  And then the giggles started - uncontrollable I might add.   I should note here - I saw nothing (just sayin)  But I am traumatized

Like seriously - - - who doesn't lock the door??

This will certainly be a meeting I won't soon forget.  I don't typically drink on a Monday night but I think tonight one is in order.

  3. Your socks are lovely, OH-MY-Gosh!!! I have been married over 30 years and I would be traumatized.
Then I would have done the same thing, laughed and laughed. When stuff like that happens I just can't help it.
Well, try and relax tonight and keep your feet warm. :)

  10. The socks are cool and your post made me laugh! The funny thing is with my work, all I see are naked bodies all day and I'm paid to see them! Wait, that statement needs a little explanation...or not!

  11. Way too funny. Really though, who doesn't lock the bathroom door at work. Great socks, I bet they are as warm as toast.

  13. It happened to me worst than that when I was young and working on my first job in a new city, as a chamber maid. I was asked to go deliver the complimentary newspapers to each rooms in the section that I was working. I was told by my superior to knock at the door and if there were no answer to unlock the door and put the paper on the desk. This was in the afternoon.

I knocked at the door in the corner room and there were no answer so I unlocked the door and there in plain sight was a young couple at it on the bed. All he yelled was Ah Shit... and I replied Ooopps... and closed the door as quickly as I could.

I had forgotten about that until now... JB

  14. Oops again, I forgot to comment on your beautiful socks. I would die for a nice pair like that. I've got the wool that my daughter spun and dyed for me wool and I just need to get started. Your oopsy friend. JB

  15. I did that once at work. We had just one individual bathroom, rather than a multi-toilet restroom. I walked over to the bathroom and opened the door. And there was Heidi, sitting on the toilet. Horrifying and humiliating. But really - who doesn't lock the door?? Our two people, apparently...

  16. Oh my, that's always been one of my worst fears!!! When there is a lock on the door, mister, USE IT! By the way, love your socks. I have tried to knit socks and just can't quite do it. I received a gift once of hand knitted socks and have always wanted another pair. Guess I'll have to break down and purchase some.

  17. love your slippers as they are pretty! Okay, teaching school is filled mostly with women, right? well, I was in the teacher's lounge and opened the bathroom door and there is one of our male assistants sitting on the pot. I'm like, really? did you ever hear of a lock? Talking about embarassed...
