Something Fishy

I know a guy who knows a guy. Isn't that how all the best stories start? This time it's a fish guy - fresh haddock fillets. He comes to town a few times a month I think. I'm telling you, this fish was so fresh it didn't even smell fishy! I coated them in corn flake crumbs and pan fried with a little olive oil. I think it was the best fish I've ever had.

The other fishy thing that happened today involved my own stupidity - pure and simple. I probably shouldn't admit this but I don't exactly look over my credit card statements with a fine tooth comb. (Sometimes I don't even open them). I usually just look at the balance and pay it off every 2 weeks. Today I opened it up and looked and saw something fishy. When I last traded cars I got free Onstar service for 3 years. But APPARENTLY, I've been still paying for it!
I went to my dealership and we are trying to get it sorted out. It appears I am paying for Auntie's Onstar and she doesn't even know how to use it!! It was supposed to be cancelled over a year ago. So now the fight begins. Wish me luck

  1. Oh that fish looks so yummy. It looks like haddock, one of my favorite fish. I love just about any fish... I never trusted those automatic credit card debit for the reason you just mentioned.
I hope that you will have this reimbursed soon.
I only use my credit card for buying Amazon on line or for hotel reservations or plane tickets. I rely on my debit card for almost everything else.
    Hugs,
    JB

They must be getting money from other people that way too.

  5. Hi Kim, It always seems to take forever to get things off of a credit card when you have already cancelled it. I only have a debit card, but I watch my bank statement very close. It sounds as though your mom is doing better. I have been with my daughter the last two days. She had surgery on Monday, but she came through the surgery really well. Just going to be sore and moving slow. The only problem she had was with what they used on the surgical area made her itch like crazy. After she could have a shower today and wash it off. The itching went away. Your fish sounds yummy and I don't even really like fish. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  8. Yummy looking fish - and fresh (really fresh) is so good....

Just a thought on the credit card/onstar issue:
If the dealership won't or can't remove/reverse the charges, try calling your credit card company - if you explain the details of the three free years they may simply put thru a chargeback for the funds paid in error and credit your card account!

    Hugs, Issy

PS considering how very much has been happening in your world it's easy to see why you'd not have had time to check line detail on your ccard)....

  14. Im a compulsive credit card checker. Probably every day I look at it online. I was able to catch a fraudulent charge within 10 hours once.

  15. I hope you get that fixed soon. Really you don't check your statements? That gave me shivers. We check ours online every time we use it.
Your fish looks wonderful and it sounds so good. I like fish at the beach but I don't like it if I have to buy it here. I think that part would be wonderful living where you live. Having fresh fish.
