The Hobbit and a Post-Christmas Goose

I've been catching up on my reading this week. I have finally finished The Hunger Games Trilogy and just started The Hobbit. We are expecting a big storm tomorrow so the kindle is all charged up and ready for a day inside. I always like to read the book before I see the movie.

I went visiting this morning. My friend Terri called last night and told me to hurry up and visit so she could take down her tree. And yes, there was "special" coffee. I swear between the two of us, when we get together, we keep the Keurig and Bailey's companies in business!

As I arrived I stopped to chat with her hubby in the garage and I was greeted by one of her two large dogs. All of a sudden I let out an ungracious squeal.

Lincoln had snuck up behind me and........well......I got a Christmas Goose! I tell you, it was a borderline violation!! Lol. He looks so innocent. Yeah, right!

I have a little hooking done. I will show you tomorrow. Now I think I need to visit the "storm snack food" bag. I made an emergency food run today. Lots of cookies and potato chips on hand :)

  1. That is a big dog!!! I hope your storm isn't to wild tomorrow. I just got back from the Hobbit movie, so hurry up with the book and see the fantastic movie. We were leaving and I told Ron to just get something to eat and watch it again. Just a great movie.
I hope you day is really nice tomorrow.

  4. I am sure you will appreciate this Kim...tucked safely away in my freezer is a hand dipped chocolate covered Twinkie and a hand dipped chocolate covered Oreo cookie. Given to me from a dear friend, well perhaps not such a dear friend after all. Goosed, LOL. Enjoy your snowy day tomorrow. Julie.

Yikes, he would surprise me too!
I need to get The Hobbit book to read, because as a dedicated
Lord of the Rings movie lover, I really did not like The Hobbit movie. Let me know what you think, once you've seen it.

  7. At least the overly friendly dog didn't ignored you, hahaha.
I haven't been to a movie in quite some time. I hope that you like the book.

I've got my bag of chip still intact for New Year 's eve and some wine left.
We've been dumped on with a huge snow storm again. I may even get some hooking done today I hope.
    Hugs,
    JB

  11. Well I hate to admit I got a few of those border line violations myself at my sons house. He has two of these same dogs and it must be their most favorite thing to do but iratates the heck out of me. Not funny. haha
And their tail should be registered as a deadly weapon.
I live alone but have been too lazy to deal with taking down the decorations. Too much darn trouble putting them up alone and now taking them down...too much trouble.
Love the Snow rug your doing. Oh how I wish I lived near you or should I say you lived near me so I could do this with you. hahaha
I could not take your cold. I am freezing here and its only 40 right now but our nights are dipping into the 20's. Its our humidity that makes it miserable cold.
Just wanted to come by and wish you a very Happy New Year. I am sending you wishes for nothing but the best for this new year.
Thank you being my friend another year.
    Love
    Maggie
