Joys of the season

Well, we have survived the holidays. Wish I could say the same for my waist. Days of non stop eating have taken its toll, but who cares!
Christmas Eve was a steady stream of visitors all day and evening. Luckily they were spread throughout the day so we were able to enjoy everyone. By the time the last group left we were over-tired and silly.
One of the gift bags had this guy poking out so we put him on the floor and pushed the button.

He sings a silly Christmas song and his ears flap to the music. Being half exhausted, Auntie and I found this to be hysterical. Mom and Millie however were less than amused. We got the double stink eyes - which made it even funnier!

Another gift created another round of giggles. All you bloggers out there will appreciate this. Thank you K & J

I'm not going to post pics of the rest of Santa's goodies, except for this beautiful Royal Doulton figurine. She is so delicate and pretty. After the decorations are put away I need to find a perfect spot for her

I've been enjoying my time at home. Mom had a rough day yesterday but is doing OK today. I think we all needed a few days of quiet.

Thank you all for your comments, emails and Christmas greetings. You have added to my Christmas blessings.

So glad you had a good Christmas and that your Mom is doing better.
Beautiful figurine! So much truth in your t-shirt, for sure.

  2. So glad you have a day at home. I am so sorry your Mom had a bad day yesterday. I love the tea shirt and your figurine is so pretty. Well I think I am going to swear off food now until next year.
    Have a nice day today.

  3. Ah yes, the Christmas holiday is winding down so I shall have to cease my two handed shoveling of cookies and such (temporarily employing my lesser paced NewYears one handed mode, lol)! THEN I shall have to behave calorically. Seriously. Tho quite unhappily...

Happy to hear your holidays (aside from the bad day for your mum) went well Kim - well deserved if you ask me (and even unasked :-)

I'm studiously hoping '13 is a good year. Or a decent year. Or, ok, a less troubled year. (Experience teaches and hones the skill of adjustable expectation & adaptable compromise).

Well, enough of my ramblings! TTFN
(and yes I did and do re: your last note)

  4. Glad you had a good Christmas. I love the shirt. No matter where we are or what we are doing, my camera is always at the ready. I snapped a picture at Kmart recently of a shower curtain I might want so I don't forget it and my 4 year old granddaughter said "Are you going to blog about it?" Guess they have my number.

  9. Great fun! Love that shirt and I know my family would totally understand if I wore something like that because I always have the camera in hand! I hope your Mom is better and you have some time now to really relax. I'm hitting the diet hard once this holiday hoopla is over!

  10. Funny dog, funny shirt, funny you!! I'm still eating....ain't nobody gonna stop me any time soon either. I have two batches of cookies and a plate of fudge to go yet. And because I didn't have enough on Christmas Eve, I made myself a whole batch of deviled eggs for dinner tonight. The holidays rock! :o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  14. Hi Kim, I read your blog but was unable to leave a long comment. I was loosing connection every time and I managed sending a few one liner on a few blogs and it was so frustrating.
My computer is finally fixed as of today.

I love your T-shirt. Now you can be justified taking your camera along with you more.Someone must love you to buy you a beautiful Royal Doulton figurine. It's just beautiful.I'm sure that you've found a spot for it by now.

I hope that your mom has settled down from all the stir of Christmas visitors and all that and I hope that you all have a wonderful New year.

    Hugs,
    JB
