Dear Santa

I think the first thing on my Santa's wish list this year is a few extra days between now and the 25th.  Do you think Santa can deliver that ??  Not likely I suppose.  My tree has been up since Saturday and still has not been decorated.  I plan (hope) to start that tomorrow in between baking cookies.

It is definately time to put myself into 2nd gear and push forward.   I have tomorrow off and have a list of to - do's

The rest of the weekend is jammed packed with 3 parties.  Our staff party is tomorrow evening - a local dinner theatre production with a hip of beef buffet.  Then two back to back events Saturday.  I am looking forward to a little fun.

It has been a week that has dampened our Christmas spirit at work.  Earlier this week we lost a long time employee suddenly.  Such a tragedy at any time yet it seems so much worse this time of year.  The funeral service is tomorrow afternoon.  Not exactly a good lead in to a holiday party.  The mood will certainly be more subdued than in the past.

So that is what is happening around here.  Wish me luck with my cookies tomorrow.

P.S.  Santa, it would be great if you sent an elf to decorate my tree while I sleep tonight.  Just thought I'd throw that out there.    Isn't there a saying that "ask and you shall receive"?  Just testing, in case Michael was wrong and you ARE real . . . . . . .

So sorry about your co-worker. The same happened in our department at the beginning of November. So sad, especially at this time of year.
If the elves show up at your house tonight, can you send them to my house tomorrow? It would help if they know how to hook and could finish my little rug (and bind it!) no later than Sunday morning. Is that too much to ask?
Have fun at your parties, you party animal!
    Pug hugs :)

  4. I would like an extra month to get ready for Christmas. I just can't seem to get much of anything done yet I'm so busy. I wonder if the Elf on the Shelf could come and decorate for us! lol

So sorry to hear about your co-worker. I pray that the Lord helps their family through this difficult time.

  5. Do you think a group petition would help? I'll be the first signer??? Oh - and if that elf shows up, send him here first (I'm closer than Lauren's) - I have shopping, decorating, baking, cards, wrapping (of the gifts he/she gets) - and a few lesson plans would be GREAT! ;o))

Sorry to hear about the loss of your co-worker. Wow - what a prelude to a party....

Wishing you well....Hugs & Holiday Ho Ho Ho's ~ Robin

  6. Kim,
I hope all goes well at your office party. It may be a good thing for people to gather and share memories.
It is a time of year to reflect I guess.
    Hang in there.....

May the Lord be with that family.

As for what you asked Santa for, give me your addy and I will dress up as an elf and decorate your Christmas tree for you, sound GOOD!, LOL!I hope I put a smile on your face, just picture me in an elf outfit. If you go to my blog and see me you just might laugh. I am not saying I am fat, I am under treatment for a lump that was found in my breast so I have been sick and lost weight but NOT the way I wanted too.
Have a great time at the couple of Christmas parties you are going too. I understand the office partry is going t be hard on everyone but yu all should give a toast at the party and I will be praying for you and their family tomorrow afternoon and thinking of all of you at the funeral service!!!!!
Please try and lift your mood for the Christmas holiday I understand to well, how it can damper your Christmas spirit.

    Hugs and prayers,
Christmas Blessings to your family from my family,

  9. So sorry to hear about your co-worker.

You know that I already want a Christmas extension. I may just officially announce it...that it'll be sometime in January and see who comes along with me!! Sounds like there's a group here already!!
    Hugs!!

  10. That's terrible about your co-worker! This time of year does seem to make it harder. :(

You could just leave your tree bare and say you're going for the "au natural" look. ;) If anyone gives you dirty looks just say it's very in vogue in the forest right now.

  11. Such a sad time for your workplace. It is hard to be cheerful when something like that happens. I hope that you can all support each other and enjoy Christmas with your families.

If I knew any reliable elves, I'd send one to you. I'm pretty sure it'll all come together. Christmas is such a magical time...things just get done.

  12. Well you do have a lot going on today. I just finished my shopping.
I feel like by the skin of my teeth.
I never wait until this late again.
I hope you have fun tonight and the Christmas party is good and they don't burn the food on purpose. :)
I hope you get all of your cookies baked. I also hope the weather is really nice too and you don't have to drive in bad weather.
I will be thinking of you today. Bad things that happen are always hard but it seems like at Christmas it is always worse.
Wear something really pretty tonight with lots of sparkles. That will help. Oh and red shoes. :)
    Hugs from me to you,

  13. Kim, it saddens me that your holidays have been marked by sadness this year. I can see why you could use some extra days before Christmas.

I hope that you can enjoy some festivities with your co-workers even under the circumstances because there is nothing anyone can do to change things that are beyond their control.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. If I was closer, I would put on some green tights and pointy hat and go decorate your Christmas tree tonight. I would even leave some Christmas Cheer under the tree. I'll be thinking of you. Hugs. JB

  15. Loss is hard but even harder around Christmas. Sorry about your co- worker. They shared apart of themselves at work that their family didn't get to know and experience.

Good luck with the tree and cookie projects this weekend. I am very behind on all of my decorating, shopping and baking!!

  16. Kim: I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your co-worker. Losing someone is always horrid, but at this time of the year, that family will always have a veil over their holidays as a result. Well, at the risk of sounding trite, maybe it's a sad Christmas gift for all of us to remember how precious life really is. XXXX
