Saturday morning was the weekly pilgrimage to The Market. There were a lot of food vendors this week. I couldn't leave without these 2 beauties - blueberry cream puff and strawberry cream tart.
I wish I could say that was all I bought but I must confess to consuming a few maple butter tarts also. And this morning I had to try a recipe I saw on Facebook - monkey bread muffins. Delicious!!
If I'm going to eat like this I should be exercising, right? Well......does clapping, head bobbing, toe tapping and swaying count? Last night I went to a show that was a tribute to The Everly Brothers. Local musicians performed and it was incredible! Their harmonies were perfect and the crowd was appreciative.
You'd think there was an earthquake because the floor was literally vibrating from all the toe tapping :). There is so much talent in our little community. My friends decided we could be back-up singers in another life.
I hooked some more on my sheep. The sky is about 3/4 hooked and I'm out of wool :(. I've saved a few strips so I can buy another matching piece tomorrow. I hate it when that happens.
Someone asked about the wool I used for the grass. Here are the two wools
I'm not sure where I got the one on the left but I think the one on the rightis a Heavens to Betsy wool. Maybe named turkey feathers (?)
I can't believe how fast the weekend passed. Soon it will be Easter and a long weekend. Just hang on!
Yes, turkey feathers!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you started with full pieces and had to do the cutting too...sorry, but we can't all be hookers ;) Now I need baked goods...stat! Toe tapping is the best kept calorie burning secret I think I heard.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that all looks so good and fun!! I also didn't know about cutting the wool ('cause I'm not a hooker...yet!)
ReplyDeleteThe goodies look scrumptious!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, oh yummy, monkey bread muffins look delish..... Oh my toes would have been tapping right along too, great tunes, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for anything blueberry yummy.. I am so happy to hear you are going out with friends it sounds like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors that are in that wool so show us more of that pattern!
Cathy
Love the backup singers comment. :-) My weekend has been very dull by comparison. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe Everly Brothers lived in my town when they were in high school and sang for a local radio station daily. I even went at times on Saturdays to watch the program live! No TV in those days around here. xo
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fun weekend. We all need those on occasion :) Makes the long week more bearable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the wool. I know I have a couple pieces of turkey feathers and had no idea how to use it.
Hugs :)
Lauren
The Everly Brothers tribute sounds like fun...toe tappin' and singin' along...great time I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a lot of fun to be out for an evening of toe tapping. I love the Everly Brothers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the secret of your wool. The grass is awesome on your rug.
As for the pastries, I had to look the other way. I gave up sweet for Lent, lol...
I love that wool. I bet it is incredible to look at. I am so glad you had a nice weekend. I hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteThose goodies look delicious.. especially the monkey bread! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend!
