Say Cheese

It was a picture perfect day.  Bright sunshine and a slight breeze - just enough to keep the bugs away.

After after my large morning coffee and a quick check of emails I planned to go out with the camera and find something to photograph to complete my homework assignment.   I did take about 70 shots but none that I really am in love with yet.  Time is running out.  Maybe I am over-thinking this whole thing.

After lunch I forced myself to get my hands dirty and I filled the 2 pine planter boxes and planted new sunflower seeds.  I placed them in front of the bench in the back yard where they should get lots of sunshine all day.  Fingers crossed that the heavy rain tomorrow doesn't wash away the seeds.   And the lone sprout that grew from my failed attempt at plant starting indoors, got a place of honor.  I recieved a cute froggy planter for Christmas so I planted my super-star in it.

Here are a few samples of what I saw this morning.

  3. I'm glad you enjoyed your assignment today! Keep snapping and try a lot of different angles. You may have to crawl under some flowers or lay on the ground though! Probably not what they told you in class! LOL!
I think you got some lovely shots!

  5. I was thinking of celebrating in spirit with you last evening after work as I shared a big juicy medium rare BBQ steak between my husband and I, cooked on the charcoal BBQ and had some grilled sweet potatoes slices, potatoes wrapped in foil. I also had peas and red wine to make it more festive and ate outside.

I love the photo with the watering can as it demands attention. At first sight, it looks like it's pouring by itself while suspended in the air. My first reaction was, "How did she do this" then I saw that it was on a what looks like a small metal rod. A cool unusual idea to decorate the garden. I love the other photos too.

Keep us updated on your sunflower sprouts and remember that it takes a while. Just keep them moist. Good luck. Hugs. JB
