And I also got my new rug pattern drawn. It's the Merry Christmas rug from Red House Wool Studio (aka the fabulous Cathy Greshner). I didn't get to start it last night and I had to work late again tonight. I always seem to have to stay late when I'm chomping at the bit to get home hooking!
By the time I got home I had missed supper. But I did get to enjoy the yummy aroma of something burning as I walked in the door. It took me a few minutes to get to "the truth" but apparently auntie placed a tea towel on a hot burner on the stove. Arrgh ! I only warn her NOT to do that a thousand times a day..... Well ok, at least twice a day, but possibly I've said it 500 consecutive days!!
Not exactly an appetizing aroma. So I grabbed a cup of tea and a handful of cookies for supper and grabbed the hooking frame
Your Merry Christmas rug is looking promising. I know it won't take you long to finish it.
ReplyDeleteBurning tea towel doesn't sound much like a supper, a cup of tea and a bunch of cookies sounds not too bad.
Have a little sip of something more potent than tea as you hook this great pattern.
Hugs,
JB
Burnt tea towel, well it could have been worse, auntie could have burned the house down!! I love Cathy's designs, this seems to be a very popular one. Hope all is well in your little corner of the world...cold and snowy in mine...
ReplyDeleteThe rug looks really cheery! Not good to put those tea towels down on a hot burner! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteHope your hooking was very merry. Hooking was on my list tonight but it didn't happen. And tomorrow an eye appt and and Jake's Christmas program so no hooking...maybe Thursday??? Anymore, every weekday seems like a Monday.
ReplyDeleteHugs :)

Hi Kim, I can feel for you with working and being a caregiver. Accidents do happen, but I would be like you only I would have my embroidery hoop in hand. The snow is here and it melted enough to cause black ice. I have seen more then one slide on my street at the corner. It was cold and I just stayed home today. Have a wonderful day and I hope you show a picture of your rug when you get it done. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim Your Merry letters look great. You are becoming a great letter hooker!
ReplyDeleteI hope you got something better than a cup of tea and a few cookies although that does sound good.
I have not been hooking I have been working on a wool knitted sweater for my husband so my needles have been flying instead of the hook. I hope to get it done before Christmas...good luck on that one! he may have a one armed no neck sweater if I don't get my butt in high gear!
Well have a good day tomorrow and I hope it is not 3rd Monday.
Denise
Nice work on the letters, Kim! Hope you don't have anymore Mondays this week.
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start on Merry Christmas. Don't forget to post a picture when it is done in all its glory.
