Well, they say snowflakes are winter's butterflies so I'm going to try and capture that idea. It's funny how you notice little mistakes when you take a photo that you don't see when you are looking directly at the rug. Looks like I need to tweak the centre of the body a bit.
I still need to draw around the outer wings and hook a bit around the edges before I decide whether this is a go or not. Maybe tomorrow night after I get some more done I'll lay it out on the floor and take some more shots of the whole piece. I do have a back-up plan, just in case.
My plan to hook all day Saturday changed quickly. Friday night at bedtime I strained my neck trying to keep Mom from falling. I didn't think much of it at the time but woke up around 4am in pain. It was so bad I stayed in my pj top all day - mainly because I couldn't get it off. I used a heated therapy bag and handfuls of Advil all day. Today it's much better.
Tomorrow we start our little weight loss challenge at work for 8 weeks. I don't have high hopes but I will try to lose a few pounds. I will try to eat healthier and cut out the junk, but don't expect any big exercising posts. Lol

So sorry about your neck. I was caretaker for both my late parents and I know how strenuous it can be physically/mentally.

Wow this is so neat. Of course I would never see a flaw in anything you do.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you hurt yourself. Sounds like you were in a lot of pain. Hope by now its gone.
Had to laugh at your comment about loosing weight. Gosh I can so relate. Been trying to figure out if I should spend the money on weight watchers.
Have a great week.

Good luck with your weight loss program at work. I did really well years ago when we had one at school. I was a bit competitive and wanted to keep up with the others who were doing so well. You'll do great!
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty Kim, I never heard that either, but love the sound of it......Sorry about the back, hate when that happens....hope you feel better, Francine.
ReplyDeleteKim that is the sweetest teeny smile on that butterfly! Tell me I do see a teeny face there!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty rug. I am glad you are feeling a bit better. You must have really hurt yourself bad. Well good luck on that getting healthier challenge. You lost weight last year. I know you can do it this year. :) Have a great Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat's the first time I heard about snowflakes being winter's butterflies. Cute idea and creative idea.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your sore neck, you really must have pulled a muscle in your neck. Luckily for your mom that you were there to stop her from falling. She could have seriously hurt herself. This must be a big worry for you now that she has some balance issues.
Sending you some warm thoughts and hugs,
JB
I'm glad your neck is feeling better!! I had plans to cross stitch for the past week, but been so sick that I haven't been able to. I need to kick this bug!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you had a rough weekend and so hope you're doing better! I will be thinking of you here and also trying to wrap my mind around a snowflake being a butterfly! LOL! Your rug has certainly helped with that visualization! It is wonderful! LOVE the sparkly ribbon and the softness of the colors! Do keep on! I think it is so pretty all ready!!
Take a little extra care of yourself this week!
Hugs!!
