A whole lotta shaking going on

The shaking was mostly me. I spent most of the last 2 days wrapped in blankets in front of the fireplace. I'm not sure if it is all my thyroid problems or a combination of that and a slight reaction to the flu shot. Normally I'm the one in the house who is always complaining it is too warm. Auntie and I go to war with the thermostat - she cranks it up, I sneak it down. This time the shoe was on the other foot. I was shivering and freezing, everyone else was melting.

I have a whole sheet of tests to get tomorrow. I will be glad to get it over with. Tonight I have to do that stupid 12 hour fast before the blood work. I think I need to tape my mouth shut tonight.

I seem to have about 1 good hour of energy a day. The other day I tackled that burlap again. I managed to draw out a small pattern. Here is just a small section I worked on.

I had a piece of soft green wool saved for the background. I cut it up and discovered it is not good wool. It's fraying and breaking.

It's not going to work, and I've trolled through my stash and I don't have anything else that will work with my original plan. So, I think I will just finish this up quickly and use the other side of the pattern for something else. No point wasting time on something that you don't love.

  1. Sorry about all your troubles with feeling cold and no energy and the fraying wool. I've had that happened to me and it's not fun. I'm careful now when I buy wool. I bought a whole yard of white wool at Fabricville once when I first started hooking and that's what it was like. I learned my lesson the hard way.
I'm wondering if you perhaps could have diabetes. That's how I was feeling and I thought that it was my thyroid a couple of years ago but it was diabetes. It could be your thyroid or it could be diabetes.

Hope that your tests goes well tomorrow. I'm sure that they will test you for diabetes.
    Stay warm and healthy.

  4. Good luck with the tests tomorrow Kim! I'm with you on the 12 hour NPO prior to testing - I'd need duct tape to get thru it too lol ... (at least now we can get 'pretty' duct tape! Have you seen all the new patterns?)

Hope you feel better before tomorrow - pretty poopy to feel poorly with chills and the like, AND starved from no intake, AND THEN to be poked and prodded.

I vote you get a yummy breakfast/lunch/dinner out - whatever is appropriate to the time of your apt - after the tests!

Will be thinking of you :-)
    PS Adore your crow!

    Hugs

  5. I am so sorry you have been so sick. I do hope that tomorrow you can get some answers. I have some nice wool that the same thing happened I had been saving it too. It just makes me so sad when that happens.
I don't envy you and the fast. The no coffee thing gets me every single time.
    Well, try and stay warm.

  11. Kim,
I've been away from the blogs lately and now I just checked in to see you're not feeling well!
I hope things go well at the Dr.s and they get to the bottom of it ( maybe did not word that appropriately?) .... but I know the thyroid does all kinds of crazy things even with medication.
Sure hope you get to feeling better soon! Love the little birdy...... but not having the right wool is frustrating! Wish you could come to our open house and stock up on some good wool!
    Hugs!!!

  13. Oh yuck... most people I know that get the flu shot have some sort of minor cold symptoms within a couple days after the shot.... but, not the shakes... I think the base of the shot is eggs. Are you allergic to eggs?

Cute crow! any medium to light background would finish that up nicely.

Feel better... and good luck with your tests!
