I bought new burlap. I had a brand new sharpie.
And that's where the story ends folks. I drew (attempted) and it didn't look right. So I flipped it over and tried on the other side. Still nothing but some mis-formed shapes.
Maybe I'll have the artsy spirit tomorrow. Today it seems to have left me.

ReplyDeleteKim, I guess I need to proof before hitting hitting publish!
ReplyDeleteAs I was saying...don't you just hate when that happens? May your mojo return tomorrow.
Hugs :)

Morning Kim,I hear ya..... I need to start up hooking again......would like to try something Christmasy, well, Try.......Good Luck, Francine.
ReplyDeleteTry some Christmas music... or your favorite Christmas movie! Maybe your hooking urge might really be for a turkey? Trace around your hand and have fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, gee you're brave to just draw free form directly on the backing like that. I draw a tiny rough sketch on paper and then redraw it bigger on paper and trace it on my backing. I'm not very good at drawing and it takes me a while.
ReplyDeleteYour Mojo will return. Maybe try a glass of wine to relax before drawing. You always come up with nice designs.
Hugs, JB
Good luck with the rug. I hope your mojo comes back again.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't think I could draw free hand to save my life on burlap. That is where all of those years and years of art school for my kids pays off. I had K. here the other day and I showed her what rugs I wanted and she just looks at my pictures and draws them. :) I wish though I could draw things from my head.
ReplyDeleteI hope that today you will be able to get a better handle on it.
My wool and supplies are stuffed in corners all over the place! Four and half years after taking in my brother-in-law and our house is still so disorganized from the caregiving and my own illness. I miss my wool so much. I'm hoping the writing and reading about your adventures will inspire me again. :) Can't wait to see what you do come up with.
ReplyDeleteI spent the better part of friday night transfering the pattern from this months rug hooking magazine.
ReplyDeleteI had it enlarged and changed a few things it really feels good to have a project again.
I am sure you will get your mojo back.
Cathy
That happens, and then one day you'll go at it like a house on fire and know exactly what it is you're doing. Hang in there...hook circles or something until you figure it out!
ReplyDeleteI don't hook but I know what it's like when you try to start a project and then have it go wrong....but don't worry I'm sure you'll get back to it in no time. Good luck.
