Random Day

I'm still here.  Well, sort of.........  My summer cold ravaged body is here but inside my head seems to have turned to mush instead of brains.

Jane got safely delivered back to the airport Sunday morning.  Her husband is gonna get an ear-ful next year if he books her another early flight.  I could still see the friggin moon in the sky when I got up to drive to the beach to pick her up.

We did manage to avoid the teary good-bye at the security gate however.  She got picked for a "random pat-down".  She was wearing a short-ish little dress.  I could not stop laughing.   I'm sure she felt differently - but it was just the diversion I needed.   Last year, as I was walking away from the gate with sad tears streaming down my face, some stupid old man stopped to mock me.  Heartless asshole!

Although I miss her, I am hoping my pace will slow down this week and I can shake this cold.  I have zero energy.
My desk at work looks like some cruel little elf snuck in tossed piles of papers in the air.  I wish I could blame someone but sadly this is how it looks most days.  But with todays mush-brain I can't focus or concentrate.   I need to at least clear a square foot area so I can rest my head!  Lol

I did like some of your ideas for remedies.  Several of you suggested a hot toddy.  I did tweek your suggestions on the weekend and substituted for cold beer.  It was strictly for medicinal purposes as I hoped it would flush any toxins from my body.  (hehehehehe Are you guys buying that??)

Anyway, I am still here and will be trying to get back in the groove ASAP.

  1. Poor you....so the sore throat became a full-fledged summer cold, hey? Oh so not fun....I'm not really sure beer would flush out the toxins as well as say perhaps a nice stiff glass of Sapphire....or maybe even some Dewars?? Those germs are mighty powerful and probably should use something strong to fight 'em.... ;o) I was meaning to talk to you about that elf thing - see, he was actually here a while back and ravaged my entire house it seems, so I sent him packing....Didn't think he'd head your way! Glad sis got off ok - I truly can't believe someone would mock someone crying...Geesh....That's gonna bug me all day! Hope you get to feeling better Sweetie....Try and have a good (and restful) week. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  4. Kim, I do hope you are feeling better, could there be anything worse than a summer cold? why yes, a summer cold and trying to enjoy one's company, especially when time is of the essence. Hope you are on the up swing. Sending well wishes from Maine, Julie.

  5. Well Kim, I hope that you will be all better soon. You must have caught that cold when you took off that bra to go to the beach. He,he,he.

Summer colds or colds at any time of the year is not one of my favorite thing. I hate to be sick.

Sending some healing vibes your way. Hugs. JB

  8. I hope you get over this soon. Now I've heard of beer as a way to flush out kidney stones, but hey it could work with a cold too...Oh, you should have spit in that guys eye for mocking you. Jerk.

  15. Kim: I sure hope you get your juju back soon. My toddy recommendation is a good fruit tea (lemon preferably), lots of honey and a good dose of Cointreau. YUM. Aside from that, there's the one a friend used to say to me: take two aspirin and lie down for two weeks. LOL If only!!! Feel better!
