Quick post

Wouldn't you know it - I'm sick!   Between trying to work and race out to the beach each night to spend time with the company I have run out of steam.   Tuesday night after my photography class I noticed my throat felt a little scratchy.

I thought if I just got a good night's sleep I could head it off.  Well, that night was a wicked thunder and lightning storm and Millie the wonder dog went into full nervous breakdown mode.  Shaking and running laps around the top of the bed (over me) for a couple of hours.   At about 6am I had had enough and took her downstairs and left on the sofa alone!  Arrrgh!  (I know, bad Mommy)

So yesterday morning I was tired, cranky and sick.  I tried to keep going - went to work and then to the beach.  Jane is only here for a week a year so I didn't want to not show up.  After supper, she took one look at me on the sofa and said "Just go home".   My reply........OHHH Thank you!!

Later this afternoon I am going to super-medicate and go back to bed so that hopefully I can enjoy the weekend with her before the sad trip back to the airport on Sunday.

Talk to you all again soon.

  2. Oh you dear thing! Nothing worse than a summer cold. You can't even groove in the comfy blankies and drink hot toddies...it's just too hot out. I hope you get to feeling better really soon and can spend the last of your sister's stay with her. Keep pumping those fluids and the super meds!
    Hugs,

  5. Oh Kim,
Sounds like your body is telling you it's time to rest! But what an awful time to get sick..... when you have company and fun things to do! Kick back a little and find some good immune system building foods and teas. Hope you're feeling better real quick!

  7. Oh, poor, poor you! What rotten timing! But ya know, Millie didn't learn to be wonder dog all by herself....I was afraid you might just crash when I heard you were still working and trying to entertain and commuting to the beach - AND still having your caretaking responsibilities at home!! Yikes Girl....surprised you weren't the one with a full nervous meltdown!! Hope you're getting some rest and spring back in time to enjoy the rest of your sister's stay....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  15. Kim I hope you are feeling better! Terrible time to have a summer cold/sore throat. Our Country Cat was afraid of storms and I got all worried over her being afraid. I got to hate storms :) Poor Millie. Poor you. I think a hot toddy is a good suggestion!
