I figured it would be a few pieces, no big deal. Easy Peasy, right? When I unpacked it I thought I was building a piece of the international space station! The instruction booklet was about 20 pages.
Seems like an awful lot of screws and nails for a little piece of furniture....
But I would get to use my new pink screwdriver set :). So it wasn't the 20 minute job I expected. More like over an hour :(
In the end these pieces were left over. I've convinced myself they give you a few extra parts. (Don't burst my bubble. All I know is the thing hasn't fallen apart yet)
The finished product
I'm proud of myself! Building this thing was easier than getting my new TV hooked up. I had to call a friend in for "tech assistance". LOL
Way to go girl, we women can do anything, well almost. Tech stuff, no. Glad you treated yourself after the hard work, yummy.Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteI had a pink tool set! I say "had"....it's all disappeared except for the hammer, and it's got a broken claw! In a family of all guys you'd think nobody would touch a pink tool! Glad your piece came together so nicely..yep, I'm sure it's all extra stuff in there! Ha!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Kim! Yeah, always a bazillion pieces...and I, too, am sure that they put extras in there.
ReplyDeleteI think they were just messin' with you. Good job.
ReplyDeleteHugs :)

We purchased a corner unit online one time and it took 3 of us to get it together! lol
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and I know you'll enjoy it.
Whoo-hoo! The joys of DIY!
ReplyDeleteHey, you did a great job! I'm sure there will be lots of other occasions for the pink screwdriver. Home ownership is a life sentence.
You did a great job! I would have ran off screaming in the other direction!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, and sometimes I think they do send extra parts.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the handy woman.
I think you needed that ice cream for strength. You have been working so hard. :)
I'm real proud of you Kim. You did it yourself and who cares if there are extra pieces, as long as it's holding the TV. It looks real good. I recently assembled a portable Bar-B-Q- and the instructions were very ambiguous but I bar-b-qed on it during the 5 or 6 days we were out of powers after hurricane Arthur.
ReplyDeleteI've got lots of tools too and I hide them from the guys or they would disappear.
Hugs,
JB
I do wonder how you had leftover parts. We usually don't have as many as we need.:-) xo
ReplyDeletethat stand looks really nice, I think you're right about the extra parts.
ReplyDeleteThe stand looks great and it is holding the TV just fine so all is well.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I have my own tool box and tools which I hide.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about having left overs, there are always extra screws etc in kits.
Ice cream was well deserved!
I usually end up crying or throwing something when I try to put those things together! Good job!
