Keepsakes

Yesterday I had the day off work and went on a little road trip.  The sun was shining and it seemed like a perfect day for a drive in the country.

I went to visit family in Pictou County.  I took the scenic country route and just took my time enjoying the sights on the 2 hour drive.

I had a lovely visit including a tasty vegetable quiche for lunch.   Before I left I was invited to browse in the china cabinet and take a china teacup and saucer for a keepsake.

Before I knew it, the cabinet was being emptied onto the table.  She had so many lovely ones.  I selected this pretty blue and gold one.   It was a sweet gesture and I will always think of her and that day whenever I look at it.

  1. My Grandmother and her mother had a teacup collection. They were always so beautiful and delicate. What a wonderful gesture to offer one up after a visit! It is beautiful!

  4. You chose beautifully my dear Miss Kim...Although I do not collect tea cups or china pieces, I have one that my mother-in-law bought me while visiting them - and it always brings back a swarm of memories of the wonderful time we had....Gee - have you tried a GG martini in it yet?? ;o) Happy weekend! 7. Pretty teacup and saucer. It's always fascinated me all the different shapes teacups have, as well as the beautiful painting on the china.

  8. What a nice keepsake to receive from on of your relative. I have some in my cabinet and I have stopped using them for some reason. I used to use drink tea out of them.

You can read the manufacturer and the pattern under the cup and saucer and research them on the web. Sometimes they are very valuable as collectible.

Have a relaxing Labor Day weekend. Hugs, Jb
