Looks like Spring is on the way

I have never seen the snow levels drop as quickly as they have in the past week.   It has been a slow steady melt.  I can see a change everyday.  I can now see all 3 back boards on the backyard bench.  I am sure by tomorrow morning I will be able to see the seat - if not more.   And with a forecast of rain for most of the weekend, all this dirty snow could soon be just a nasty memory.

I finished hooking the little Spring mat last night.
It isn't bound yet because there is still enough room to the right to hook another small mat.  Now all I have to do is think of something.  The hit and miss squares pillow is also still on this same piece of rug warp.  So by the time I design and hook another small mat I will have 3  projects to bind at once.  And you all know how much I hate that part of the project !
Oh and here is another fun update on my 3 vacation days - remember 2 were spent with the migraine and I woke up this morning with a sore throat and cough.  Isn't that just perfect ??  Its not too bad - just more annoying than anything else.

Have a great weekend.

  2. Thanks Michelle. I'm happy you rose to the occasion on the word of the week even though I choked. I definitely see new shoes in my future.

  4. Hi Kim,
    Love the spring chick mat!
I Always hated this time of year ... all that brown dirty snow ...just piled up in snow banks ... Don't miss it. Daffy's are bloomin' here.
    Think Spring!

  5. So sorry dear Kim that you are being bombarded with afflictions. I sure hope that you'll feel much better by the weekend.

Since you're off work on Sunday, maybe you can always go shopping in Moncton. Surely there still will be lots of pretty shoes left to choose from.

I'm so glad that the snow is going down here too. Now we have to be concerned with flooding and I hate that word. It's so inconvenient and darn dangerous for us dairy farmers and it does so much damage. We live right close to the St John River. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Try to have a great weekend just the same. Hugs. JB

  6. I love that little rug!
Wow! Even having the migraine you are working away! Sorry to hear you now have a sore throat. But as you say, spring is on the way! Tomorrow we start daylight savings time! Whoopee!!! Hope your snow keeps melting and NO MORE arrives to take it's place.
    Have a great weekend!

  7. Oh Kim the spring mat is too too cute! It really is spring-ie and makes me smile tonight. Our whole family is sick from being at the wedding with that sore throat and cough thing. CH and I are the only ones that escaped it-so far! CH had it at Christmas, take something Kim to keep it from heading to your chest! I promise to not suggest a glass of wine!

  9. Kim, sorry, I forgot to comment on your little spring mat. It's very cute and it feels just right for spring. I was only concern about your illness.
I hope that your mom and auntie are alright.

  11. Cute, cute mat! That is a bummer to be sick on vacation time. I just lived that. Went back to work and thought...aren't we due for vacation soon? LOL I'm happy to report that I am actually binding one of my three unbound projects...I'll send some binding energy your way when the time comes. ;-) Feel better!

  12. Love that Spring Mat! As they say "If you hook it, it will come!" lol! Hope you are feeling better today! Funny thing is, I usually get a sore throat after getting my teeth cleaned... Makes you wonder what those dental assistants are doing (or not doing)?

Please tell me you got your journal! If not I am sick because there is no way it should take this long to get to you. I knew I should of sent it certified or special delivery.
