Better

I am happy to report I am feeling better today.  Still not 100% but so much better than yesterday.  I had such big plans for yesterday too - so that made it seem worse.  I had the day off work and an orthodontist appointment in Moncton.  My plan was to spend the day shopping alone.  I had a zero balance on my credit card and lots of spring things I wanted to shop for.  It was supposed to be a happy day for me.

I knew as the morning progressed this was going to change.  I probably should have cancelled the appt for my braces tightening but I am too stubborn to do anything that might delay getting these stupid things off.   I suffered through it and headed straight for home without stopping anywhere.  You know it must have been a bad headache because there was a big shoe sale just around the corner from the dentist!

I spent all afternoon in bed and only went out after supper to the grocery store for grapes.  I know this is strange, but when I get one of these headaches I seem to crave green grapes.  I don't understand it but I had to have some.    This morning all that was left was a heavy head.  The day after one of these episodes my head feels like it weighs 100 pounds and it is hard to hold up.  Strange !  Thanks for your comments yesterday.  Seems like a lot of you have to deal with these headaches too.  I don't really know what the trigger is but luckily I don't get them very often.

So that is 2 of my days off wasted.  I hope tomorrow I can get something productive accomplished.  I hope to finish hooking the little spring mat tonight.  There is only one little corner left.
Sorry for the bad blurry photography.  Hopefully you will get to see the whole thing tomorrow.

  1. Kim,
I'm so glad you are feeling better. I've only had bad headaches...not migraines...and those were bad enough! I can't even imagine what you go through. I love the colors in the rug! It makes me think of the dye jobs I've been doing and gives me hope that my wacky fabrics will work. I love the blue/green leaf and the brownish/orange flower. Super! I can't wait to see more,
    Take good care...and there's always Zappos! ;-)

  2. I am so glad you are feeling better. I really hate it when I get them and even though they aren't as often as they have been in the past I still have them at least once a month. They don't have anything to do with my cycle either. My head feels heavy too the next day. I have cut everything I know to cut so they are way down now.
One of my triggers is chocolate cake. So I am glad you are better now.

  3. Kim,
I missed your post yesterday as I was teaching my class! So sorry to hear you were sick! Yuk.... those headaches are miserable! My Mom used to get them years ago and I remember as a kid I had to take over the family as I am the oldest. She spent 3 days in bed and the next couple of days recouping. She ceased getting them after going through menopause.

I hope you are on the mend and hooking on that adorable little mat! Great colors!
I'll wait for a better pic!

P.S. Courtney mentioned Zappos.Com. I love them and back when I had a little money I loved ordering from them!

  4. So sorry to hear you had a hard day. A friend of mine suffers from migraines also and I know the toll it takes on her. On to more pleasant things, your mat certainly has a happy spring feel to it.

  5. Kim, love the colors in your cute little mat, looking forward to seeing the finished product. Glad to hear you are feeling better, do you take anything for the migraines? By trail and error it took me two years to finally find something that does help me. Stay well my friend, Julie

  6. Kim, you are such a brave soul to go ahead with the orthodontist appointment with a migraine headache. I'm glad that you are feeling a bit better today and I hope that you'll be back the 100% Whip cracking woman you are. We need your posts to make us laugh.

I've been hooking on my challenge Grandmother's Trunk rug so I've been very slack on blogging. Hug. JB

  9. Glad to hear you are better today. I used to get terrible headaches in my teens and twenties. I got off chocolate and they went away. It killed me though, I missed my Hershey's Kisses! I am looking forward to your finished project too!

  11. Dear Kim - I'm loopy to hear that you were able to obliterate that relentless migraine. Grope for grapes or whatever makes you feel better. Don't be delusional - new shoes would have done the trick! I would be a little vindictive against that loser headache and go back and pick up a pair! :)
