Sweet day

Happy Valentines Day!  So far so good.  The day started with going downtown and having coffee with the Hens.  Always a great way to start the weekend.  I stopped at the little boutique bakery vendor and  picked myself up a little treat.  Bread pudding with chocolate Kahlua sauce...OMG SO GOOD

Next stop was the local german chocolate shop downtown for some treats for Auntie which I then delivered.   We had tea and a visit and I made sure she was all set up for tomorrow's blizzard. (yes, close to 2 feet of snow forecast for tomorrow).

And since I have no sweetie, I bought myself a little valentines treat - some funky new leggings.

These are all the rage around here lately, with a long tunic and high boots.  Yeehaw!!!  Lol.  Last stop was to pick up a fresh bag of Twizzlers because it wouldn't be a storm day without twizzlers.

Comfort food on the menu for later.  Dijon chicken and dumplings in the slow cooker.  Can't wait, it smells so good.

Everybody in the east, stay safe tomorrow.   Happy Valentines Day Peeps!

  1. I love love you leggings. If I saw those I'd have bought them myself. Oh your menu and desserts look and sound delicious. How's about posting that crock pot recipe for us all to try one day.

  2. Oh your leggings are fun. I've not seen any like that to buy think I am way too old if I do find them. I'd feel like an old lady dressed in!
Sorry you are expecting more of the white stuff. It has snowed all day and the temps are falling. Tomorrow will be frigid. Spring, please come soon.
    Happy Valentine's Day.
    Hugs :)

  3. Happy sweets day! I love that cartoon! Yesterday the chocolate stores were jam packed and I am sure they are today as well... yes, tomorrow (after digging out of some snow)... I'll be headed out for the discounted chocolate! Cute leggings and the Kahlua sauce on that pudding sounds divine! yum! Next comes Easter chocolates! lol! ;-)

  4. Happy Valentines day today to you and I love those leggings. I do love leggings.
Stay warm and your dinner sounds incredible.

  5. I know it is worse there in the Great White North, but it is super windy here and supposed to be record lows today and tomorrow! My brother keeps sending pics from Florida...last year I was there at this time!! I love the funky leggings and am intrigued by what might be in the German chocolate shop!!

  6. My goodness! I know, let's trade. Your winter and snow for my spring weather. This is just too much. I'm missing my mountains and the snow so bad. :( It's not fair. lol

Wow! What wild leggings. ( love it. And yes could you give your recipe for your slow cooker meal?
Yep and next is Easter chocolates...:) I waiting not so patiently for it :)
    Take care, Janet W

  7. Yummm all of your good food I have not cooked much today maybe tomorrow. Love the leggings! Stay warm and snuggly.

  8. Whoa, your funky leggings looks lot sexier than my old black longjohns. I feel like Lauren, I'd look ridiculous with my skinny old legs but then I look ridiculous with my black longjohns anyway.

Your desert looks yummy and I love Dijon Chicken.

I've been checking out the weather for the Maritimes and it looks pretty bad for tomorrow for Fredericton as well and George has been sick with the flu for three days. I hope that you're ready as can be.

  9. Love the leggings Kim, comfy. Oh need Twiizzlers anytime, yum yum. Stay safe and warm...Blessings Francine.

  10. I had trouble focusing on your post today. Seems all I could think of was chocolates on sale and bread pudding with Kahlua sauce. I think I'll go look for some sweets ;-).

    Stay warm!

  11. Happy Valentines Day the are one styling gal...I agree one cannot live without Twizzlers...Yup, two feet of snow heading my way too...sigh...Thinking of you...

  12. A sweet day indeed! Bread of my (many) favorites!

  13. Ohmygosh...LOVE those leggings! Sounds like a good day and good plans for staying safe and warm...especially with the Twizzlers. ~grin~
