This is crazy! Mother Nature obviously has her knickers in a twist over something. It is the first official weekend of summer. It's traditionally the weekend people open up their cottages, go camping, have a patio party, plant their gardens.........NOT turn up the furnace and put on an extra pair of socks!!
Yes, it is May 18 and the temperature was 4 degrees Celsius. That's about 39 degrees for the rest of you. And at about noon there were SNOW SHOWERS.......it's madness I tell you.
But it was a perfect kind of day to stay in with a cup of tea and get out the hooking frame. I started hooking the little girl's dress.
Before I finish filling in her skirt I need to hook up some of the long grass at the bottom of the pic. That area is starting to look just like a tangle of lines and I am having trouble keeping the design in focus. I find myself muttering "is that a blade of grass or a flower stem etc")
I guess outside activities will have to wait for another weekend, unless Mother Nature gets over her snit tomorrow ;)

Hi Kim, I can't believe that you were showered with snow... well yes I can because the milk truck driver received a call from his mother early this morning to tell him that it was snowing. We got rain showers and sun. It was cold and I dug out my long-johns and as the day progressed I had to take them off for working in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you can enjoy your long weekend with nicer weather. You sunflower rug is coming along nicely.
Hugs,
JB
