Making progress

My mojo is returning - for both blogging and hooking. I have been hooking a little each evening on my rug. It really does settle me down. So the lesson here is to keep hooking as it seems to keep me sane.
I have started hooking some of the dark background in some areas. It really does change the look of the piece. So that is another lesson I need to keep reminding myself - when you are not happy with certain areas of your rug, don't panic and rip it out until you've added some background and taken a second look.
There are still some colors I'm not thrilled with but I will wait and see before I fix it.
So here it is so far


Although its taking longer than anticipated I am liking it so far. It was a stretch for me but I have learned lots. Well time to tackle the sunflower in the top left corner.

    WoW! The lupines at the bottom are fantastic (maybe hollyhocks or foxgloves...sorry, I love them regardless)

    Oh Kim that looks amazing! You are right, the background really does make it pop. I love that the sunflowers tower over the girl. How fun! :)
