Giveaway Goodies

First, before I get to the real purpose of this post I want to make a shameless plug for my own giveaway. There are still a few days left to enter. And don't forget, there will be some surprises added!

Now the really great news. A bit ago I was the very lucky blogger who won Jody's giveaway at Cobblestone Corner and Grandma's Biscuits. Well.....it arrived and what a fabulous box of goodies she put together for me.

I can tell you, the most wonderful fragrance came out of that box as soon as I opened it. There were some orange spice melting tarts, candles and some of Jody's own soap. Oh I love homemade soap. And who doesn't love buttons!

A perfect notepad for all my lists and a box of candy made in her town. Jody, I opened the chocolates.....yummy!!

And some lovely wooden spools. Now I ask my prim friends - any suggestions for how to display these great wooden treasures? I'd love to do them justice.

I can't thank Jody enough for the wonderful goodies. She is a warm and generous soul. If you've never visited her blog Cobblestone Corner and Grandma's Biscuits I encourage you to do it. You won't be disappointed.

  4. Such a great win!!!! I would take the spools and keep them in the basket and tuck some nice fall flowers in between and hang it.

  6. What a great bunch of gifts. Those spools are great. You could make some crows to put on top, or just put them on a shelf. You are so lucky to win all of that.

  8. Hi Kim, I like to display wooden objects in a wooden deep dough bowl I think its called that.I put dried pomegranites, cookie cutters or just little objects I like to see and set it on a table.

  10. Enjoy all of those goodies! It's time's like these I wish my computer monitor was scratch and sniff! lol! A lot of people display the spools in baskets or bowls with other stuff. I have them standing as a grouping on a shelf. I had needlepunched a bird and fixed him on a stick... then inserted the stick into the center of the spool. So now the bird looks like he's sitting on the spool (but it's not permanent, so the bird can be switched out with another item... dried herbs... etc.

  11. Yea for you!! Congratulations! That looks like a fun bunch of goodies. Mmmmmm....orange spice - bet that is heavenly. And doesn't get much better than baskets and bobbins....Sounds like you've had lots of suggestions for display already....I use mine, like Moosecraft does, for crafting - making make-do's and such. But I also love them in old bowls with some flax or stitching supplies....and I have my faves on my fireplace mantle....one holds a pair of antique children's shoes; but the others are just plain. In fact, you can see them in my last post about the tops. And, of course, if you really can't figure out what to do with them, you can send them to me. ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
