Ahh, it felt great to be working with wool again. And even better, I got to reduce the stash a little. (you know, so I can buy more). Hehe. I think this will make a cute pillow.
It's a pattern I picked up at Deanne's Studio. I can't seem to resist a sunflower. Can't grow em, so might as well hook em!
I think the background will be my favorite "dirty mushroom" color wool. But what do you think for the stars and swirls??
Suggestions are welcome. In fact, I'm begging for them......

I love you hot hook! sandie
ReplyDeleteYes, that will be perfect for my couch! How did you know? What about an off whitish color for the stars?
ReplyDeleteI Like the new hooking project, perhaps once you hook a bit of the background the decision for the stars and swirls will be easier to make. I am sorry I'm not much help. Have a lovely week my friend. Hugs, Julie.
ReplyDeleteWell you know I pull my hair about backgrounds but I think that color sounds wonderful. I really think this is one of my favorites, Well I guess that is no surprise huh? Your sunflowers look great and I really think that those stars and swirls are going to great. I am so glad you are back to hooking. The one thing about that pattern, it would be hard for that one to be let go of just because it is so very happy. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those cute little sunflowers and the colors are great. What is your background gonna be? I have no idea what to suggest for the stars. You have a great sense for color and I know that you will choose well.
ReplyDeleteHugs. JB
So I am thinking "dirty mushroom" must be a brownish color?? how about some shade of green for the swirls with white stars?? Sunflowers really are a cheery flower these are fabulous can't wait to see it finished :))
ReplyDeleteAll great suggestions given for you. For the stars maybe a very pale blue.
ReplyDeleteMy, dear Kim,
ReplyDeleteYou got lots done!!! You go girlfriend.
Hugs :)

Yeah, nothing like a bunch of hot wool on your lap in the summer, eh? Colors for your new project? What about white starts for punch, and then make their swirls either the same blue as the sunflower leaves (at least they look turquoise on my screen) or in yellow. Like if they're by the yellow sunflower they'd be blue, other ones yellow. Or make them all blue. Not sure how that would show up with the mushroom color though, so it's still up to you. Glad I could help!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,Great minds think alike I have sunflowers in my next design The rug has sunflowers and a bear.It looks good.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking project, Kim...I'm sorry I am no help on your swirls and stars. I'm confident you will decide on a color that will be awesome...looking forward to the completion...hook on, girl...
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern but no help on tHe stars! You'll figure out something fabulous !
ReplyDeleteYou work fast Kim. I might suggest a color for the stars that actually grows with the sunflowers in nature. I don't grow sunflowers so I'm not sure what those colors would be. Real helpful aren't I. lol!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Just wanted to thank you for coming by my blog and leaving a lovely comment and following.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the sunflowers that are around blogland and you newest hooked rug is gorgeous already!
Make sure to show us your finished rug!
Best wishes
Christine
Love the bright sunny colors! As usual, you're doing a great job. Nice subtle shading in the leaves.
ReplyDeleteIt's a winner!
hey kim! it must be the cooler weather cuz i have been hooking too. i am asking for advice on my rug tooo! i hate trying to decide on colors! ok... i think your sunflowers are wonderful and i actually love the pattern i might have to look in to it! i think you should do the swirls in colors sim to the leaves ect... and i have know clue on the stars but i bet something will come to you as you work on it!so now im waiting to hear what you think of my chicken! hope you enjoy your week kim and all is well!
ReplyDeleteCute pattern, sunflowers are great! It's been a bit cooler here in Philly too-love it:@)
ReplyDeleteI have been hooking a bit more too. I like the stars
ReplyDeleteIt is cooler here 50's in the morning. I am so not ready for summer to go yet.
Cathy
It's supposed to be cooler here but it sure doesn't feel like it is. You don't want color suggestions from me. I'm just no good at that! But I can't wait to see the final product!
ReplyDeleteI think I would suggest you use a wonderful plaid wool, and cut it so you have different color stripes - like an orangish and green type plaid. Then use the organish color for the stars, and the green for the swirls. Brilliant, huh??? ;o) I absolutely LOVE the colors you ended up using. Hot hooks I'd say.....Gonna start calling you Speed Hooker.....A week later, and you have this all finished up....before I could even catch up! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
