A Market Morning

A light rain and cooler temperatures greeted me this morning. Such a nice change from the heat and humidity. It felt so refreshing. Miss Millie even seemed a little more perky.

It seemed like a good opportunity to take the new car for a little run on the highway. (drives like a dream btw). Sackville Farmers Market - here I come.

I tried to take some pictures this morning, but sometimes I feel funny about it. I need a t-shirt that says "I blog so I take strange pictures". Lol

I got some yellow string beans, carrots, and some good size beets. The farmer vendors were thrilled with the rain. The crops here were starting to struggle with the dryness.

The honey man suggested I cut off his head for the photo. (oops....lol)

Then I hit the sweet jackpot - the German baking table. Look at these beautiful cheesie buns. They were huge.

And dessert - cinnamon buns, apple cinnamon donuts and chocolate blueberry muffins. And there was a hidden pocket of chocolate liquid in the middle. Mmmmm

I love market day.

  4. OH YUMMMMMMM!!! Skip the fruit and veggies and point me in the direction of the baked goods! Chocolate and blueberries?? Together??? Really??? Now you have me pondering and staring at the blueberry muffin in front of me (yes, I made blueberry muffins) wondering why the heck didn't I think of that?! And a pocket of chocolate in the middle??? Obviously SOMEONE tested them out to figure that out..... and new car???? What?? Obviously, I'm missing something....(please don't say what you're thinking....) ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  5. Kim, congratulations on the new car, she sure is pretty. I love my heated seats, Winslow Homer too. Don't you just love Farmers Markets, everything is fresh and arranged so nicely. This is why I never lose weight, I tend to partake in all those wonderful baked goods. I just can't seem to help myself. Sending greetings from Maine, Julie.

  7. I was on such a quest for dill (that I didn't end up finding) that I passed right by all of the baked goods at the market today...now I am sad...

  10. Apple cinnamon donuts...mmmm. We've had more than enough rain this summer, but I would appreciate the cooler weather. Actually, our temps haven't been high, it's just the humidity. I could do with less of that. Glad you were able to enjoy your day at the market.
