Hot Lips and the Fleabag Hotel

So, did that title get your attention?? Hehe, thought so! Well we have arrived at our destination. I'll get to the accommodations in a minute.
We decided to have supper first. We had the spiciest Thai chicken. it was a great meal but the heat intensity actually got worse after we finished eating. I thought my lips were on fire. Good thing there was a cold beer on the table :)

Now it's time for me to tell you about the fabulous, classy resort/spa we are staying at tonight. Oh wait....that's the place that was full and put us on a useless waiting list. We are someone else....now affectionately known as the "fleabag hotel".

Not exactly 4 star. It is cleanish. When we arrived and walked in the lobby, Rebecca says "oh, there must be a pool. I smell pool". It did smell like pool. The desk clerk says "no pool, you smell laundry". Seriously....what's up with that?

She gives us our room key cards. We are on 2 different floors. I walk to my room, try the key card, and try and try. I'm thinking, geez how stupid am I that I can't insert a card in a slot properly? Then I see the clerk running down the hall. She gives me an actual key. Apparently the electronic cards don't always work here. Nice!

Then 2 hours later when we came back from supper in town, the clerk was actually folding laundry at the front desk - on the desk! Now is that classy or what??

But there is no excuse for totally roughing it. We are having a nice little buffet of Brie, crackers, melon and olives (and liquid refreshments)

Happy times at the Fleabag Hotel.

  1. Duh! 2nd paragraph line should say we are somewhere else, not someone else!

  3. I knew you weren't someone else ~ I knew you were still you! This is a scream ~ if you're on the outside looking in!! I LOVE a nice room and this would make me seriously irritable!! Good thing you imbibe ~ it would be very hard to take, otherwise! You are a good sport!! I wondered why your friend posted about laundry! That's disgusting ~ but I'm sure the folder doesn't really know better!! Sweet dreams!

  4. I love Farm Girl's comment about wearing shoes!
I'm sure you will have a good time no matter where you are! Have a few more libations and you'll think you are at the classy resort/spa. Just don't go looking for the pool.
    Hugs :)

  7. You are a good sport Kim, folding laundry on the counter however is a bit much for me. I hope that she sanitized the counter before putting the laundry on, but what do I know, I work in a barn, lol. At least she used chlorine in the laundry.

I'm glad that you made the best of the situation and brought some snacks and drinks. It makes it more bearable.

Being someone else may have helped in this situation, lol. You're the best. Hugs. JB

  8. Oh Miss Kim, I once said...it's got a shower and a bed, how bad can it be. Never again...it was BAD...roaches and all but I was stuck.

Hub laughs at me these day 'cause when we open the door I put my suitcase in it and immediately check for bedbugs. Yep, even in the high class places. Heeehehehe!

God bless ya and have a great weekend!!! (I do so hope ya were exaggeratin' a bit here!)

  12. Oh please tell me that that really ISN'T a photo of where you're staying! And if not, then please tell me that you brought more than one bottle of Grey Goose.....ICK!!! (Somewhat reminds me of the time my mom, great aunt and I got lost in Canada - ended up staying in this ummmm "place" (won't even call it a motel) - it was a series of used-to-be mobile homes strung together. I literally slept with a hoodie on pulled up tight over my head on TOP of the bed (figured it might be safer than what lurked beneath) and checked into the nearest motel we could find the next day for a hot, hot, shower. No way I would have put food on any dresser there.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  13. Oh my goodness!

I am sorry that it wasn't the best place to stay.:(

Don't know if I dare tell you what happened to my hubby and I and little Princess Downy... Maybe I will. Now if you don't want to be grossed out you might not want to read any further.

Well, we moved to a small town about 5 hours east of here a few years ago. When we got there our apartment manager to be said that we couldn't move in til the next day. Oh great, we weren't planning on having to spend money on a room for the night. Well, we found the least expensive place. It was nice in the lobby and on the way to the room.

Then when we opened the door I thought I was going to throw up..remember your 'pool/laundry smell? I would have rather smelled that. Here is the GROSS part...the room smelled like sweaty armpits. EWWWWWWWWW Oh my, I almost lost it. My eyes were watering and my nose was threatening to abandon me. We couldn't get another room. I kept Princess Downy up on the bed. Of course floor bed what difference does it make the whole room was disgusting. We ordered pizza and kept the box close between getting pieces. I didn't sleep under the covers either. Who knows what gross stuff was under there. ICK! Ok I better stop or I might get sick. LOL

Well, I wasn't planning to write a book, sorry. I will be short and sweet next time. :)

Thank you for your nice comments on my blog. :)

Have a wonderful weekend. Take care, Janet W

  14. Ewwwww. We got stuck in a place like that one night...it had about three locks and plates on the edge of the doors to prevent crow bars. Really classy.
