Fibre walk preview

Today I finished delivering some rugs for the downtown display. I must say the downtown area is looking great for the influx of fibre loving folks next week. Fall decorations and a beautiful renovated park in the centre of town. I think the Fibre Arts festival participants will be happy.

Here are some photos of my hooked pieces for the display. (Part 1). There's probably a few you've never seen before.

I tried to take one outside, looking in the window. Sorry, I couldn't avoid the glare.

The Fall temps arrived today, just in time. Now it feels like Thanksgiving. The turkey is going in the oven tomorrow, and all the trimmings are waiting. I LOVE thanksgiving dinner. I did have to search all over town to get a can of jellied cranberry sauce. I hear some of you laughing and crinkling your noses. I hate than lumpy cranberry stuff - blechh! Me, I enjoy that slurping plop the jelly makes when it comes out of the can.
AND I know I am not alone because there was lots of that yucky whole berry sauce still on the store shelves!

I've got my thanksgiving pants ready!

  3. Your rugs looks fantastic. I would have never thought of using cloths hangers to display them.
I hope that your Thanksgiving dinner will be all you hope for and that you fill your pants.

I love homemade cranberry sauce with orange juice in it, the chunky kind but I'll eat the jelly type too. I'll miss the smell of turkey cooking this year.

Happy Thanksgiving Kim to you and all your three other girls.

  4. Kim, there are some traditions you just cannot change and the "plop" sound of the cranberry can is one of them. Have a lovely Thanksgiving Day, who's cleaning out the bird? If I recall correctly you, myself too, detest placing our hand in the turkey cavity. Didn't you have an incident with a knife?Greetings from Maine, Julie.

  5. Kim,
Your hooked rugs look so lovely displayed and the purse looks wonderful! Will you be modeling it for the festival? Wished I could fly up there and attend!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you folks in Canada! The plop of jelllied cranberries is a favorite here too and we have it quite often not just at T-giving. In fact a small town near here had their cranberry festival yesterday..... a huge event!
    Happy eating!!
    Hugs!
