Chats on the Porch

It has been too long since I have joined the Farmhouse Chats on Patrice's Porch.  This seems like a great week to jump back in.  I wish I had a carrot for Wendell but I'm hoping he will accept an apple instead.

I'm hoping Patrice's porch is covered as we have had torrential rain all day.  But sitting in a nice covered porch with a mug of coffee, listening to the rain fall will be just fine.

Here are this weeks questions.

  1. What's your favorite day of the week? Why?
Well, usually it depends on what is on my calendar at work.  Any day with too many meetings scheduled is not a good day.  But in general I would have to say Thursday is my favorite.  Mom has adult day care, which she seems to enjoy and I usually get to go out to lunch (without having to cut up someone's food)

2.   Do you have a blog? Please tell us the name of it and how long you've had it.

Well, obviously this is my blog :)  I started it in July 2009.  I'm glad Patrice asked this question, so maybe I won't forget my anniversary next month.

3.   What's the last book you read? If you're not a reader, please tell us about the last movie you saw.

I just started reading The Hunger Games.  I'm not too far into it yet, but hopefully this weekend I will get lots of reading time.

4.   Do you ever doodle with a pen or pencil while something else is going on?

All the time now.  Last year I took a workshop on Zentangle.  I love it.  When I am sitting in work meetings for hours, the entire border around my agenda's are covered in zentangle doodles.

5.  Tell me about your bathroom towels. What color are they? Do they all match?

I have a bit of a thing for shower curtains.  I change it every couple of months and then coordinate the towels.  Currently there is a bamboo thing going on and beige and white towels.

  4. Oh I love that you change you shower curtain and towels. I have a thing for shower curtains but when we moved here I didn't get to have them anymore. I love that you change your towels too.
Nope don't fold them into swans but I do fold them like you would see them at a resort. It just makes me feel happy. Weird I know.
My kids loved Hunger Games and it is sitting on the piano. I still haven't read it. So glad you came by for a chat today.

  6. You're going to enjoy the Hunger Games. I read all three and saw the movie - loved it all! I hear ya about changing things up - it almost feels like you have a new house when you do that. Enjoy the rain - especially since you have a good book!

  7. I think if ever I decided to do a theme for my bathroom, then I'd like to do it in blues and yellows. That just seems so cheery to me. =D

  9. My notebooks used to have doodle borders. We had a beautiful day with no rain in sight, so the porch was a great place to visit. Wendell says he'd gladly accept an apple:)

  14. I just finished The Hunger Games....don't get the mass obsession with a new age society enthralled in watching teens plot and succeed in killing each other..just didn't get it....

  15. Of course I had to google Zentangle- I'm intrigued. I'm watching the videos on YouTube! I haven't read The Hunger Games but all the lovelies have. They just don't sound like my cup of tea- I'm not into the futuristic stuff. And killing. :)
