Where are those hot flashes when you need them?

I'm having one of those days where I can't get warm. Snow, wind, freezing rain - I was not made for winter.
I woke up and it was snowing.  The weather network said it was going to change to freezing rain early afternoon.  Being an eastern girl, I know it's easier to shovel dry snow than wet snow.  Sure enough around 11am I heard the subtle ting of frozen pellets on the window.  That's my cue.  I bundled up and headed out armed with a shovel and a scraper.  An hour or so later I was wet, cold and my blue jeans were coated with wet white snow.  And I haven't been warm since

I changed into my heaviest sweatshirt and a pair of thick leggings and two pairs of socks.  How many days until Spring??

But a bright spot, after a long wait, the new season of Downton Abbey starts tonight.  I can't wait to curl up under a blanket and find out what zingers The Dowager Countess has to offer.  I love her.  And evil Thomas and dusty Daisy.

I am so excited about it. I have heard the music in my head all day.

  2. I am cold, and I've not even been out in winter weather! Our temperature stayed around 50 degrees F today, and we had almost 2 inches of rain overnight and today! I've not become a "Downton" watcher, but am going to tune in tonight! xo

  4. You need to invest in a heated throw! My electric blanket and I are best friends.
Enjoy the show. Since I don't have a working TV but can watch DVDs, one of these days I will start to watch.
I hope work isn't too bad after being off for so long.
    Hugs :)

  5. Oh Kim, I know how that can be. I was out in the middle of Wyoming scraping snow and ice off my car and had to go in after a short time because my fingers were so frozen that they felt on fire. Honestly and I believe I was crying too. BRRRR :(

I have an Idea...you can have my hot flashes. I never NEED them nor want them and you can give me your snow.....wait, I think I requested it before lol It is still not here :(

Hope you can stay warm and enjoy your show. I only saw a commercial for it last night. Really never knew of it before. Enjoy it.. Snuggle up with Millie. :)

    Take care

  6. I had to shovel snow to the small entrance to the calf barn and my fingers were like ice. I had to put them in hot water to get the blood flowing again.

I used to have hot flashes and I don't want them back lol... I only get them at the change of season for a little while and they are not bad, only annoying...

I'm no fan of winter either. I use Magic Bag to warm me up quickly and I use one everyday... I put it in the microwave for 2 minutes and it will warm me up in no time. I've made several as gifts and everyone loves them to warm up their bed.

Stay warm and safe on the road.
    Hugs,
    JB

  8. Kim, you're a hoot ~ you thief ;~) I agree with Lauren, those small electric throws are nice and I haven't used mine yet this year but have been so chilled to the bone that it should have been plugged in. I cannot live without a turtleneck and sweatshirt in the winter.
